To the Enviromentalists who complain about Kyoto

Lets look at some facts

from Canada

Even within government departments, she said, Ottawa had no policy of buying environmentally sound products.

"The government wants Canadians to do their part in greening their daily activities. It should ask of others only what it is prepared to do itself."

Environment Minister Stephane Dion unexpectedly agreed with Gelinas' criticisms.

"What we have achieved is not at the level of what we have committed," he acknowledged, pledging to do better. "We need to be sure we will be at the end as strong as we claimed we would be at the start."

So Canada who says they are behind Kyoto doesn't support industries who meet their standards with government money.

UK

As Mr Blair told the global challenges conference organised by former US president Bill Clinton, China and India "are not going to find it satisfactory for us in the developed world to turn around and say, "look, we have had our growth. You have now got yours so we want you to do it sustainably, even if we haven't".

Like US President George W Bush, Mr Blair now believes the key to reducing carbon emissions is the development of non-polluting technology.

"The truth is no country is going to cut its growth or consumption substantially in the light of a longterm environmental problem".

and Also on the same Site New Zeeland

When New Zealand stood to gain $500 million by selling carbon credits earned by foresters to bigger polluters, ratification came at little cost and offered a potential windfall.

But, with officials now estimating compliance will cost half a billion dollars a year, it is time to develop an exit strategy.

So do you admit the US congress had a point enviromentalists? that instead of signing off on something that looks good but doesn't work we should try to do something that works?

But to those people who are enviromilitants things would be ok if that EVIL US did their share.

and yeah you yellow, brown, and black people... you can't have a developed economy.

Kyoto was a horrible idea from the start. Accept it people and move on.

All Animals are equal

Howard Dean

"Are these the values of the Republican Party and its conservative allies?" Dean asked. "If not, President Bush, Ken Mehlman and the Republican Leadership should denounce them immediately as hateful, divisive and worthy only of scorn."

Also Howard Dean

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean dodged a question yesterday about whether Rep. Charlie Rangel should apologize for saying that President Bush is the 21st century version of notorious 1960's segregationist Bull Connor.

Asked about Republican Party chief Ken Mehlman's demands that Rangel apologize, Dean told the New York Sun, "I think the chairman of the RNC ought to be embarrassed for what his party has done to America the last five years."

"It ought to be Mehlman that's apologizing to the people of New York City." Dr. Dean insisted, ignoring Rangel's comments altogether.

Also Howard Dean

“We must ... come to terms with the ugly truth that skin color, age and economics played a deadly role in who survived and who did not,” Dean said.

When did Howard Dean gain the right to comment on ANYONE's ability to talk about issues of race?

Government Stupidity HO~!

"I don't think it would be fair to single out the kids and our drivers," said Karen Strickland, Hillsborough's transportation director. "If it was an overall endeavor of every government agency to turn off their air conditioning, that would be different.

"But some kids are on a bus more than two hours a day, and our drivers put in a lot of miles. I want them to be comfortable."

Not all students ride in air-conditioned buses, which many districts began purchasing between 1999 and 2002.

About 45 percent of Hillsborough's 1,300-plus school buses have air conditioners, close to the statewide average

Ok...... So what about the students who don't get the air conditioned buses now... Screw them right?

It is a LUXURY and a LUXURY that can be suspended. In Pasco county according to the article they only air condition the Chair Lift Buses... and I am cool with that.

But... sadly the stupidity of justifying this grows deeper
Stars twinkled in the dark morning sky and the temperature was about 75 degrees when Anthony Verderosa boarded a school bus bound for Tarpon Springs High School about 6:25 Tuesday.

The Palm Harbor senior said the bus had its air conditioner running needlessly during his 30-minute trip.

"We never need the air conditioning in the morning, but it's always on," Verderosa said.

Bay area school districts do not have rules governing air conditioner use while drivers transport students.

Drivers are permitted to use their air conditioners regardless of the temperature or whether students are on the bus -- and windows are allowed to be open at any time.

So lets review

Running AC when the windows are open...... NO!
Running AC when their are no students on the bus NO!
Running the AC in the early AM when it is cool NO!

Unless you are in government. Then that is ok

Maybe then Hillsbrough county can give us back some of the toll and gas tax money since they want to pound our money down a rat hole

Pat Hines has picked a good one.

Pat over at Ankle Biting Pundits Came up with the Judge Elihu Smails Award for some one really stupid. Rarely does Pat's choice hold such transcendent value of stupidity as the choice for this week

Who is this award named for? Judge Elihu Smails, the character in the film Caddyshack who asks of the obnoxious but lovable Al Czervick (played by Rodney Dangerfield), “Good Lord, what has this buffoon done now?”

And I want to Second what Pat has to say here before going into the stupidity of this

Please don't think that we believe evidence of "torture" should not be given to the American public, or that the government has a right to hide information. However, in this case, the photos being released add nothing new to the stories about Abu Ghraib that have already been written (over 50 times on the front page of The New York Times) about, and we have seen similar pictures already. It's not as if this is a new case of torture at some other location. Quite simply it's just overkill, that could end up getting Americans killed.

Plus, let's be honest here, the people seeking the release of these photos (ACLU, International Red Cross) are doing so solely for the purpose of harming the war effort, especially in Iraq, which they viscerally opposed to begin with. It's really not hard to cut through the crap they spout about upholding "American values" and openness and holding the government accountable for "torture" (of terrorists by the way).

There is no REAL point at all.

So lets see this great legal mind

5 U.S.C. § 552(b)(3). The relevant statute, 10 U.S.C. § 130c, authorizes the withholding of
“sensitive information” to the extent such withholding is requested by a foreign government or
international organization. See 10 U.S.C. § 130c(a). Section 130c provides that if the
information was “provided by, otherwise made available by, or produced in cooperation with”
the foreign government or international organization, and certain other criteria are satisfied, the
information may be exempted from release by the United States government. In particular, the
national security official concerned must determine each of the following:

Yes because this violates the GENEVA CONVENTION

but apperently the basic english of this section of the US law was not good enough for this Jurist.... as he goes on into minutae of other legal avenues to justify releasing information that will not
#1) Aid int he prosecution of any criminal acts of wrong doing
#2) Expose new acts of wrong doing
#3) or help a victim redress grievences in ANY way

this is horrendous actions by a horrendous judge

Ya know people......

There is no way the beef can be this good

no way

(Las vegas Review Journal)

A survey of top eateries reveals the most expensive steaks this side of New York City, if not even higher than there.

Granted, many of the jaw-dropping prices are the result of more Kobe beef being served. Take Shintaro, the Japanese eatery at Bellagio, where the 10-ounce Washugyu Kobe tenderloin is going for $190. Shintaro's 12-ounce sirloin commands $170.

Over at Bradley Ogden, the high-end restaurant at Caesars Palace, the 8-ounce Kobe steak goes for $175.

Also cracking the $100 barrier: Craftsteak at the MGM Grand, with a 10-ounce Kobe filet mignon price at $100. On the cusp: a 14-ounce Kobe ribeye for $98.

So much U.S. beef has topped the $50-a-steak mark that we couldn't count them. Among the highest: Michael's at the Barbary Coast offers a 20-ounce New York prime aged Black Angus sirloin for $75, and filet mignon for $68.

Ok.... Now, I can get some pretty good steak in my store and cook it at home for far less then this.

I think these restaurants need to do something value added.

and since Vegas unlike the rest of the state of Nevada prohibits prostitution I don't see what they could do

Some new folks who popped over to my blog

The folks from Stop The ACLU found me. I plan to add them to my link list now that I have discovered it has some limits in size. ( I can remove some now that I am not in Sarasota proper)

and to put it this way. The choice of exposing those photo's serves no one but the terrorists. Not justice, not exposing the truth... No one.

And according to Senator Kyl of Arizona we will get to see Lindie "thumbs up" porn with her boyfriend.

Which might not be bad if the media showed it... but they will only show "the troops" as sadists not the "these people are sickos" reality of the scandal

The Anti-Defamation League is objecting to the Southern Baptist Convention executive committee's decision to ask its missionary boards to study the possibility of recognizing the Southern Baptist Messianic Fellowship as ``an evangelistic mission to Jewish people.''
The fellowship is made up of about a dozen congregations in the United States. Its Web site says its mission is ``to encourage Jewish believers that their ethnic and historical heritage need NOT be lost upon their commitment to Yeshua (Jesus).''

The Greatest Story Never Told
The Relationship of the Gentile and the Torah
By Ariel Bar Tzadok

The Sin of Urbanization

Urbanization is a unique act of the human species. Urbanization is the building of collective habitats which are inclusive of all needs of human society. The urban society is a man made attempt to control his nature and environment. Urbanization and its foundation technology are an attempt by mankind to use human intelligence to develop and manifest mastery over the world of nature and nature's creator, G-d, the L-rd.

The original sin of Adam in the Garden of Eden was to partake of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge, Good and Evil. Adam did partake of this knowledge. The Bible clearly says that his eyes were open and he did become like G-d. He did not become G-d, but like G-d in that Adam too could now use his mind to create an environment in his own image, even as G-d created one in His.

The creations created by mankind are expressions of the unique human knowledge, that was received by Adam upon partaking of the forbidden fruit. Therefore, since the beginning of modern human history dated from Adam, all human development is an expression of the knowledge which is, in and of itself, blemished. Remember the Tree of Knowledge gave forth fruit that was both good and evil. Human technology, the byproduct of our knowledge, therefore, is a two edged sword which can be used as either a blessing or a curse.

Cain violated his High Priest birthright by not offering the proper sacrifice to G-d. He added insult to injury by murdering his brother. G-d banished Cain from living in the world that He created. This was the meaning of Cain's banishment from before G-d. Cain would no longer be able to live in harmony with nature, for the blessings of nature, symbolically called "the face of G-d" was concealed from Cain. He would never again experience the blessings of what nature has to provide. Cain, therefore, created his own nature, he used the evil side of the knowledge of the Tree and created an environment which by its intrinsic nature was a manifestation of his own evil.

The city which Cain built and every city thereafter manifest at their psychological core an expression of knowledge which has its source in the evil side of the original forbidden fruit. Urbanization and the technology that comes forth from it, therefore, is man's attempt to create an alternate nature other than what G-d had originally ordained. This was the first form of rebellion against G-d. Yet, it must be remembered that the sin of banishment and the rebellion that came forth from it was not placed upon all mankind but only upon Cain and those descended from him.

Cain, however, was not the only one of the children of Adam to have gone astray. The children of Adam and Eve's third son, Seth also followed a path away from G-d. The difference was that the path followed by Enosh, the son of Seth, was not overtly a rebellious path, but rather was followed mistakenly, similar to the mistake and confusion of mother Eve in the
Garden.

THE SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE OF SOME OF OUR SYMBOLS
BY BRO. F.V. MATARALY

(This Paper is reproduced in our Transactions by
permission of the Worshipful Master and Brethren of
The Lodge of Living Stones No. 4957).

“The old time Masons were religious men and as such
sharers in the great human experience of Divine
things, and did not need to go to hidden teachers to
learn mysticism. They lived and worked in the light of
it. It shone in their symbols, as it does in all
symbols that have any meaning or beauty. It is, indeed
the soul of symbolism, every emblem being an effort to
express a reality too great for words. So then,
Masonry is mystical as music is mystical, - like
poetry, and love, and faith, and prayer, and all else
that makes it worth our time to live; but its
mysticism is sweet, sane, and natural, far from
fantastic, and in no wise eerie, unreal or unbalanced.
Of course, these words fail to describe, as all words
must, and it is therefore that Masonry uses parables,
pictures, and symbols.”

“The Builders” - Fort Newton.

This Paper is an attempt to discover the significance
of some of the allegories and symbols which pervade
our Ritual. There is no pretence at endeavouring to
assess how the symbols crept into the Ritual, but at
trying to interpret certain parts of the Ritual as it
is this day for the benefit of fellow Masonic
students. As it is practically impossible to consider
the subject apart from its relation to mysticism, a
few words regarding the origin of this word will nit
be out of place by way of introduction to its
connection with Freemasonry.

Illumination or “muesis,” although sometimes used, as
we in the Craft use “initiation,” to denote the whole
process of spiritual regeneration, was the technical
term in the ancient Greek mysteries for the second
stage of the work; the first being “catharsis” or
purification, and the third “epopteia” or mystical
union. A “mustes” (mystic) is one who has been, or is
being, initiated into some esoteric knowledge of
Divine things, about which he must maintain silence;
one who is not yet an “epoptes.” The adjective
“mustikos” was used of something seen through a glass
darkly, some knowledge purposely “veiled in allegory
and illustrated by symbols.” The safeguard of
mysticism is the belief that we have not merely to
renounce the world of ordinary experience, but to find
its deeper and more spiritual meanings and so to
advance in the knowledge of God, the world, and
ourselves, that every aspect of our experience may be
exalted and consecrated together.

All who are acquainted with the literature of
mysticism, the study of which has come greatly to the
fore in recent years, will know that the mystic makes
his life’s aim to be transformed into the likeness of
Him in whose image he was created. Just as Freemasonry
is a quest for “Light,” so the mystic quest is the
pursuit of ultimate objective truth, the journey of
the soul by an inner ascent to the presence of God and
immediate union with Him. The mystic loves to figure
his path as a ladder reaching from earth to heaven,
which must be climbed step by step. This “Scala
perfectionis” is generally divided into three steps.
The first is called the purgative life; the second the
illuminative; while the third, which is really the
goal rather than a part of the journey, is called the
unitive life or state of perfect contemplation. It is
a fundamental mystical doctrine that, while
purification removes the obstacles to our union with
God, our guide on the upward path, the true hierophant
of the Divine mysteries, is LOVE. In our Masonic
system we have, as a connecting link between heaven
and earth, the symbol of Jacob’s Ladder (definitely
identified at one point in the Ritual with the
“infallible P.R.,”) with its many staves or rounds,
but it is significant that there are “three principal
ones” corresponding to the three stages of mysticism,
the “third and last” comprehending the whole being
designated by the term “Charity” understood in “its
most ample sense” i.e. LOVE.

The notion of purification or purgation - “catharsis”
- runs through our three Degrees very insistently. We
have to purify our physical and moral nature in the
First Degree, our mental and psychic nature in the
Second, and our spiritual nature in the Third. In each
degree there is also a measure of illumination, (fresh
access of light, or enhancement of consciousness), and
of union; (we become united to all others on the same
rung of the ladder). While each degree considered
separately thus consists of purification,
illumination, and union, it is true to say that the
First is more especially the Degree of purification,
the “rough ashlar” stage when we are given two W.T.’s,
in order “to knock off all superfluous knobs and
excrescences,” so that “our words and actions may
ascend pure and unpolluted” and became acceptable to
T.G.A.O.T.U. The Second Degree is that of illumination
and knowledge, where we are exhorted to study the
“liberal arts and sciences.” The Third is the Degree
of union, - after a mystical death we are raised to a
“reunion with the companions of our former toils.” We
experience symbolically the death unto sin which must
necessarily precede the new birth unto righteousness,
and learn the significance of the “f.p.o.f.”

This may suffice to show that our Masonic ceremonies
have a very real affinity with the well-trodden mystic
way, of which we read in literature from the earliest
times, 500 B.C. at least, and a proper understanding
of this seems to me to be necessary if we are to
“distinguish and appreciate the connection of our
whole system and the relative dependency of its
several parts.” One of the first definitions we give
our Candidates is that Freemasonry is “a peculiar
system of morality, veiled in allegory and illustrated
by symbols,” and it is this aspect that I wish to
develop a little in the present Paper, - to consider
the mysticism of the Craft as exemplified in some of
its “Geometrical” symbols. Now, it is a tendency of
all symbols to petrify or to evaporate, and either
process is fatal; for in the former instance the
recitals of explanations become dry and meaningless
through constant repetition, and in the latter case
the explanations become dry and meaningless through
constant repetition, and in the latter case the
explanations are so divorced from reality that, having
become fantastic, they cease to have vital
significance.

We learn from the Old Charges, and also from the
Ritual itself, that Freemasonry is founded upon
Geometry, and in fact is Geometry. IN our charge to
the F.C. we say that the Science of Geometry “is
established as the basis of our Art.” It was a saying
of Pythagoras that “all things are in numbers; the
world is a living arithmetic in development, - a
realized Geometry in repose.” Plutarch attributed to
Plato the saying that God is always geometrising, and
Henry Fabre, the great naturalist, in one of his
books, makes the following remark: - “Geometry, that
is to say, the science of harmony in space, presides
over everything. We find it in the arrangement of a
fir-cone, as in the arrangement of an epeira’s living
web; we find it in the spiral of a small shell, in the
chaplet of a spider’s thread, and in the orbit of a
planet; it is everywhere, as perfect in the world of
atoms as in the world of immensities. And this
universal geometry tells us of a Universal
Geometrician, whose Divine compass has measured all
things.”

Even the modern astronomer, Sir J.H. Jeans, says that
“from the intrinsic evidence of His creation
T.G.A.O.T.U. now begins to appear as a pure
mathematician.”

In short, “geometry,” as applied to the science of
Freemasonry, is not to be construed in the narrow
sense of mathematical limitation, but in the much
wider sense in which it was understood by the
Antients, namely an enquiry into the source of all
things, and a knowledge of the secrets of nature and
science through the whole of God’s creation, including
the innermost essence of man himself.

In dealing with these transcendental matters we must
never forget that our comprehension is of necessity
very limited. The created cannot compass the Creator,
any more than a stream can raise higher than its
source. As Evelyn Underhill, a well known Writer on
mysticism, says, “If the reality of God were small
enough to be grasped, it would not be large enough to
be adored.” In particular we, with our limited
intellect and intuition, know little or nothing in
regard to origins; we can only speculate as to
probabilities. We cannot conceive that space and time
are either limited or unlimited. we are, however,
aware that certain things are independent of, or
rather transcend, space and time, e.g. Life, Mind,
Goodness, Truth, Beauty, Wisdom etc., and all the
imponderables. The mystical doctrine is that the
material creation is everlasting and its Creator is
eternal, and although we do not know the “how” of the
process, we must accept the fact that by some means
the “many” have arisen from the “One.” While,
therefore, we cannot hope to attain any finality in
discovering how the material world of space and time
came into being from the Absolute, we can take life as
we know it, and endeavour to construct a mental
picture of the relation of God to the world, which
will serve until a better and nobler takes it place.
Faith has been defined as the resolution to stand or
fall by the noblest hypothesis.

A good starting point in our enquiry is the “POINT.”
It is stated in the Hebrew “Zohar” (“Book of
Splendour”) that, “when the Concealed of all concealed
wished to reveal himself, He first made a single
Point. The Infinite was entirely unknown and diffused
no light before this Luminous Point violently broke
out through the vision,” (i. 15); and again, “the
indivisible Point, which has no limit, and which
cannot be comprehended because of this purity and
brightness, expanded from without, and formed a
brightness which served as a covering to the
indivisible Point, yet it could not be viewed in
consequence of its immeasurable lights” (v. 20) As
regards the first of these sentences it may be
relevant to point out that the most complex living
creature starts it career on this earth as, in effect,
a point, round which the physical-form gathers in
accordance with the guidance of the underlying reason
principle, or Logos.

A very old mystical saying has it that, “God is a
circle whose centre is everywhere and whose
circumference is nowhere.” A point has position but it
is without magnitude. This saying is thus another way
of indicating that God being eternal is above space
and time, but at the same time is present, or
immanent, at every point in space. This is the first
point in our Masonic ontology, for the “point within a
circle” is one of the most important symbols, and at
the moment the emphasis is on the point. This
particular point is then a symbol of God. It is the
point from which we all come and to which we all
return. It is the centre where all knowledge resides
and where we shall find the lost grand secrets. Until
we arrive at the centre we must perforce be content
with substituted secrets, for as Isaac Pennington
says, “All truth is a shadow except the last. But
every truth is Substance in its own place, though it
be but a Shadow in another place. And the Shadow is a
true Shadow, as the Substance is a true Substance.”

The idea connoted by the “centre,” which is itself an
adequate subject for a complete Paper, not merely a
passing reference appears variously in our Ritual as
“the All-seeing Eye,” the “Sacred Symbol,” in the
centre of the building,” “the Blazing Star or Glory in
the centre,” and by certain Hebrew Characters related
to the Middle Chamber of the Temple which are depicted
on the Second degree T.B. by the letter “G”. In the
Platonic dialogue known as the First Alcibiades it is
plainly declared that “to know oneself is wisdom and
the highest virtue of the soul; for the soul rightly
entering into herself will behold all other things and
Deity itself; laying aside multitude and the variety
of all manifested powers which she contains she
ascends to the highest watchtower of beings.”

I used also to be said that, when the Almighty wished
to create the Universe, He described a circle. Now the
instrument we use for this purpose is the Compass -
the emblem of restraint and limitation - so that the
idea behind this old saying is evident; creation in
space and time is a limitation of the Divine Essence.
We recollect, of course, that the Compasses will do
their work properly only when one point is fixed, thus
making the other point free to range over infinite
space. The fixed point is a vital condition of their
proper activity. Just as the point can be anywhere, so
the circumference is unlimited.

The Lectures tell us that the proper subjects of
Geometry are Magnitude and Extension, or a regular
progression from a point to a line, a line to a
superfices, and a superfices to a solid, i.e., 1 to 2,
2 to 3, and 3 to 4. This progression in ancient
Geometry was known as the Pythagorean Tetractys, and
was represented by ten dots arranged in the form of an
equilateral triangle with four dots in the side - and
this has a deeply mystical meaning. The single dot
carried the significance just accorded to the centre,
and was regarded as the Active principle in Nature, or
SPIRIT. The two dots represent the Passive principle,
or MATTER, and here it is pertinent to notice that in
these modern times matter is regarded as consisting in
the last resort of a combination of protons and
electrons, positive and negative charges of
electricity, something we know nothing about except in
its manifestations. The three dotes denoted the
combination of the active and passive principles or
physical form; and the four dots denoted the
perfection of nature. The whole was thus a glyph of
the perfection of the Deity in manifestation.

From another angle this regular progression referred
to the tetrahedron, the first of the Platonic solides,
of which we read in the “Timaeus.” The apex, the line,
the equilateral triangle, and the solid itself. More
poetically we can refer it to the seed, stem, leaves,
and fruit, the whole symbol signifying the perfection
of the complete entity. I would like to develop the
mystical significance of this regular progression of
1,2,3,4 in a slightly different way.

The underlying meaning of the ONE has been indicated,
but by no means exhausted, in the foregoing references
dealing with the point. The ONE, or the Absolute, is
beyond space and time, the world of becoming, and
perhaps even beyond Being. It, or He, is in mystical
literature called the No-Thing because He is all
things - the foundation of all being, - and can only
be described by saying “not this; not that; but
something more.” The One is the particular theme of
Neoplatonism, and union with it was the goal of the
Ancient Mysteries, - the flight of the alone to the
alone.

When the One manifests in space and time, it
necessarily becomes “tow” or dual, positive and
negative, and everyone is familiar with the pairs of
opposites which pervade creation; light and dark, heat
and cold, and so on. In the Craft we have B. and J.,
which we are told referred to the “pillar of Fire”
which gave light and the “pillar of Cloud” which
proved darkness. B.J. therefore clearly correspond to
the two our of progression. Just as positive and
negative charges of electricity in the modern theory
of matter unite in a stable manner to produce chemical
elements and the bricks of the material world, so in
Freemasonry we learn that “Strength” (power or
positive activity) when conjoined with something
“Established” (or passive) produces “Stability.” Of
the two as a line I will deal later on in this Paper.

We now come to three, the first number which has a
beginning, middle and end, and which has been known as
the first perfect number. You will recall the many
trials in our Ritual, which is a symphony in three
movements upon the number three. The threefold idea
runs through the whole with great insistency, but the
particular triad I am concerned with at the moment is
that of the three Grand Pillars which support a
Freemason’s Lodge, - Wisdom, Strength, and Beauty. In
the first T.B. they are definitely called Divine
attributes, and the passage wherein they are
described, After dealing with their Application to the
individual, continues with their cosmic significance
as follows:-

“The Universe is the temple of the Deity whom we
serve; Wisdom, Strength and Beauty are about His
throne as the pillars of His works; for His Wisdom is
Infinite, His Strength omnipotent, and Beauty shines
through the whole creation in symmetry and order.”
Wisdom, Strength and Beauty thus lead us to
Omniscience, Omnipotence, and Omnipresence, and all
are attributes of the Deity in the eternal sphere of
the Divine Mind above space and time, that spiritual
world which the Neoplatonists called the intelligible
world which is intermediate between the One and the
Soul world. They have a very close affinity to the
three great Platonic values of Goodness, Truth, and
Beauty.

The three as an equilateral triangle is a glyph of the
spiritual world, and this symbol refers to the
three-in-oneness of the Divine Nature, an idea by no
means restricted to the Christian religion.

The addition of the fourth point completes the
tetrahedron> Image the solid standing on its base. Any
plane parallel to the base will contain a perfect
tetrahedron above it. The apex corresponds to the
ineffable Godhead - the One; - the three lines
radiating therefrom represent Wisdom, Strength and
Beauty, and the equal sides of the base correspond to
B.J. (action and reaction) and the result of their
conjunction - balance, harmony, and stability. There
is an infinite number of bases to which the apex and
the three radiating lines are common.

Bearing in mind that tetractys, and now the
tetrahedron, represent the perfection of the Deity in
manifestation, we are now in a position to consider
the application of this glyph to the building of King
Solomon’s Temple, which in the First T.B. refers
symbolically to the creation of the Universe. Has not
the First T.B. been aptly called the description of
the Cosmic Temple? “The Universe is the temple of the
Deity whom we serve.”

We find in the first Lecture that the materials for
Solomon’s Temple were brought from afar off and the
whole erected in silence. Also we learn that when the
material came to be put together, “each piece fitted
with that exact nicety that it appeared more like the
work of T.G.A.O.T.U., than of human hands.”
Penetrating below the literal surface meaning this
seems to refer to the activity of the Divine
Intelligence, or Logos, building up the temple of the
material universe in space and time out of the
material prepared in those far off days when what we
now know as matter was crystallised out of the nebulae
from which our stellar and solar systems arose. We
need no reminding of the essential “silence” of the
natural processes of growth. “I am not in the habit of
speaking,” Plotinus makes Nature say.

The two outstanding features about the building of
Solomon’s Temple were:-

a) The two Great Pillars

b) The fact that there were three Grand Masters who
bore sway, neither of whom could carry on without the
consent and co-operation of the other two.

I have already alluded to the two Great Pillars when
referring to the dual nature of matter, or the
material of the Cosmic Temple, which is symbolised by
B. & J. and the stability of their union. It should
now be noted that the three Grand Masters are
specifically identified, in the Lecture on the First
T.B., with Wisdom, Strength, and Beauty; “S.K.I., for
his Wisdom, H.K.T.for his Strength in providing men
and materials, and H.A.B., for his curious and
masterly workmanship in beautifying and adorning the
same.” In terms of individual activity, wisdom is
shown forth by thought or intellect, strength by will
or action, and beauty by feelings, emotions and
desires; in other words, by those three facets of the
complete personality otherwise known and described as
head, hand, and heart. Here we may perhaps be able to
resolve an apparent inconsistency in the Ritual and
the Traditional History, for it will be recollected
that whereas in the actual ceremony the representative
of our Master is slain and raised by the three
principal Officers of the Lodge, in the narrative of
the Traditional History the offence is committed and
the body raised by three workmen.

Now, H.A.B., as we have seen, corresponds to the
Divine attribute of Beauty, the principle which
“shines through the whole of the creation in symmetry
and order,” and which is thus responsible for Form.
But Beauty is further stated “to adorn the inward
man,” and this individual reference serves to show
that H.A.B., also typifies the hidden man of the
heart, the Divine spark in everyone, which lighteth
every man that cometh into the world, and which
shineth in darkness though the darkness comprehendeth
it not until it is sought for and its light diffused
over all being. This spark which the Cambridge
Platonists called the seed of the deiform nature,
cannot sprout or grow to full perfection until we
purify our whole nature, intellect, will and feelings;
our workmen, so to speak; good servants when
disciplined, but bad masters when allowed to run
riot.At the same time, these activities when purified
to become the principal officers of our personal
“Lodge,” are the self-same means by which we can, by
constantly orienting them towards Wisdom, Strength,
and Beauty respectively, raise our Master from his
imprisonment and restore him to his rightful place in
the scheme of things.

Our Master is slain by three great knocks,
representing the rebellion of our workmen, intellect,
will and feelings, who have misused their working
tools, i.e., thoughts, actions and desires. By three
knocks at the door of our personal Lodge we commence
the great work of raising him to the mastership of our
personal being.

In the foregoing discussion we have dealt more
especially with points. The first development of a
point in space is a line, and I would like to draw out
the symbolic significance of some of our lines.

A single vertical line represents the Plumb Rule, and
the Working Tools. Two vertical lines, parallel,
refer to B. & J. but when we consider that the
significance of B. & J., is that of a pair of
opposites, in particular from their ascribed meanings
of activity and passivity, we shall find their
ascribed meanings of activity and passivity, we shall
find that it will be more appropriate for one of the
lines to be vertical and the other horizontal. We
actually meet two pairs thus in Lodge on the Wardens’
Ps. with exactly this meaning. When these two lines
are conjoined we have a glyph of the level, if the
vertical rises from the mid-point of the base, or of
the square, if from either end, another intimation
that B. & J., when conjoined denote stability,
harmony, or balance.

There is another more covert reference to these two
lines at right angles, for if you consider the Signs
of the Three degrees you will find that the right hand
moves in the Three degrees in such A way as to come to
rest in the third in the position denoting perfect
balance, at the centre of the body.

In the Ritual these tow lines occur combined in the
former manner under different circumstances and with a
correspondingly different meaning - in the three
regular steps. I have referred earlier to the fact
that the three degrees refer respectively to the
purification of our physical, mental, and spiritual
natures. In each case before we are entrusted with the
Secrets of the Degree or the rewards of our continued
progress, we are required to take a special step,
which from the instruction given is specifically in
the form of a Tau Cross. This cross has been the
emblem of Life in all ages, and in its grosser aspect
refers to the baser parts of our nature, which require
to be disciplined before we attain our goal of
spiritual regeneration. These regular steps symbolise,
therefore, the necessary work of treading underfoot
the baser elements of our physical, mental, and
spiritual natures at each stage of our progress
towards the light. As we step into each charmed
circle, the left foot forms a chord of that circle and
the right foot bisects it at right angles, pointing to
the centre. In passing it may be mentioned that there
seems to be a distinct, though somewhat hidden
reference to the Tau Cross in its highest aspect in
the Third Lecture, where we are told that the
candidate is raised from a superficial flat to a
lively perpendicular; also that the gavels, the
emblems of power wielded by the Master and Wardens,
are shaped in the form of the Tau, and their use is
the prerogative of the Rulers in the Craft.

The next time we see three Taus in conjunction is on
the Installed Masters’ Apron, where they replace the
rosettes, the feminine emblem of submission. This
seems to indicate symbolically that an Installed
Master having completed his journey in a Craft Lodge
is deemed to have effected the work of purifying his
three-fold nature, and is in fact the “just man made
perfect.”

So far in dealing with these three Taus we have been
concerned with the individual in his progress from the
“rough ashlar” stage to the perfect ashlar stage; but
there is implicit in the Ritual a further more
elaborate symbol which in its development will link up
with that portion of the earlier part of this Paper
which dealt with Masonic ontology and with the Cosmic
Temple of which we are all living stones.

We are told in the Lecture on the First T.B., that in
all “regular, well formed, and duly constituted
Lodges, there is a point with a circle round which the
Brethren cannot err.” This centre is bounded “between
N. and S. by two parallel lines, the one representing
Moses and the other King Solomon; on the upper part of
the circle rests the V. of the S.L., unfolded.: Now,
Moses symbolises STRENGTH - was he not the strong man
who led Israel out of Egypt “with a high hand and
outstretched arm”? Solomon, moreover, symbolises
WISDOM, while the V.S.L., refers to the BEAUTY of
holiness and the divinity which pervades all things,
so that we have a covert reference to the three Great
Pillars. When we consider that the Compasses, And by
implication the circle, are emblematic of that
restraint which keeps the Freemason within due bounds,
we can see that from the point of view of the
individual, when we open our personal Lodge on the
centre, we are bound by Wisdom, Strength, and Beauty,
the ultimate terms of thought, action, and desire,
respectively. The individual reference in the First
T.B., Lecture you will remember, is “Wisdom to conduct
us in all our undertakings, Strength to support us in
all our difficulties, and Beauty to adorn the inward
man.”

We are, however, given a Cosmic reference in the same
Lecture, to which I have already alluded; “His Wisdom
is infinite (Omniscience); His Strength Omnipotent
(Omnipotence); and Beauty shines through the whole of
the creation in symmetry and order (Omnipresence).”
If, therefore, we draw the radii from each of the
tangents to the centre of the circle we find a
three-fold Tau, a very adequate symbol of the Most
High and the conjunction of the three Divine energies,
which are three yet one. The following quotation from
the “Book of the Wisdom of Solomon” will perhaps serve
to illustrate this truth, but examples could be
multiplied:- “wisdom is more moving than any motion;
she passeth through all things by reason of her
pureness. For she is the breath of the power of God,
and a pure influence flowing from the glory of the
Almighty; therefore can no defiled thing fall into
her; for she is the brightness of the everlasting
light, the unspotted mirror of the power of God, and
the image of His Goodness. And, being but one, she can
do all things, and, remaining in herself, she maketh
all things new; and in all ages entering into holy
souls, she maketh them friends of God and prophets,
for God loveth none but him that dwelleth with Wisdom;
for she is more beautiful than the Sun and above all
the order of the stars ... she is privy to the
mysteries of the knowledge of God and a lover of His
works.”

The next step is form a line to a superficies. So far
we have confined ourselves to the point, the line and
the circle. I would like now to consider the triangle
and the square, and to develop an ordered sequence of
ideas embodying their use. In the old days when the
earth was thought to be flat and square, the Square
(or quadrangle) was the emblem of the earth, and
later, of the earthly element of man, and matter
generally. The triangle on the other hand, and
especially the equilateral triangle, came to refer to
the perfection of the Divine nature, and therefore
Spirit. When applied to the individual, the triangle
and the Square have come to refer to his spiritual and
physical natures respectively.

We first encounter these two geometrical figures in
conjunction in the E.A.’s Apron, which in many
workings is worn with the flapup, its five-pointed
form thus symbolising that the E.A. possesses a
material and an immaterial part, but that the latter
has not yet succeeded in controlling the former, or in
coming into proper relation with it. The spirit is as
yet only brooding over the face of the waters, so to
speak.

In the F.C.’s Apron we have a change. The triangular
flap is turned downwards on to the square, implying
that the work of subdual of the physical or lower
nature by the spiritual or higher nature is in
progress. Two rosettes also appear in this Degree,
and this leads us to consider the two-fold nature of
the immaterial part of our make-up, and its symbolical
representation.

The triangle can be drawn with the apex pointing
upwards or downwards. These were known in medieval
Kabbalism as the triangles of fire and water
respectively. Symbolically the triangle of fire refers
to the spiritual nature, and the triangle of water to
the mental or psychic nature; one meaning of the
interlaced triangles being the perfection of manhood;
spirit and soul in perfect balance. Returning to the
F.C.’s Apron, the water triangle of the mental or soul
nature is evident in the flap, but there is only an
adumbration of the triangle of fire. The triangle of
fire here consists of points only instead of lines,
and the apex is hidden, indicating that in this
Degree, the spiritual is as yet half concealed and
half revealed. The F.C. is in the midway of
Freemasonry.

In the M.M.’s Apron the third point has become
visible, and the two triangles have become partly
interlaced. We must wait until later on before we
arrive at the symbol of really perfect manhood or of
Divine Humanity - the interlaced equilateral triangles
with a point within and the whole surrounded by a
circle.

“From a superficies to a solid” is the last step of
our progression. The three solids we meet with in a
Craft Lodge are the parallelopipedon, the rough and
the perfect ashlars.

Brethren will remember the symbolical significance of
the first of these solids as explained in the lecture
on the First T.B. In the Craft the stone of true die
or square is the symbol of mature manhood “after a
life well spent in acts of piety and virtue.” It has a
correspondence with the other symbol just mentioned,
the interlaced triangles, for whereas this has twelve
points and six lines, the cube has twelve lines, or
edges, and six surfaces. The cube is such that its
sides coincide with three planes at right- angles; it
is the first of the Platonic solids to which this
applies. The cube is thus in its structure triadic,
and is a peculiarly apt symbol for the human
personality with its threefold nature, hand, heart,
and head; intellect, will, And feelings; thought,
actions, and desires; body, soul, and spirit. To apply
this idea still further, consider on a point of a
cube. From it radiate three lines, which correspond to
the components of the triads just mentioned. In the
rough ashlar these are rough and irregular. By the
exercise of the three Working Tools, a straight- edge,
a chisel (also represented by a line), and a gavel
(represented by two lines at right angles), the rough
material is wrought into due form and the perfection
of the whole brought into manifestation. So in the
individual, the material is rough, albeit sound,
stone; else he would not have been accepted as a
candidate, but by the exercise of the Working Tools of
the personality, purified thought, action, and desire,
the individual is wrought into due form and the hidden
Master brought to light. This can be exemplified by
opening the perfect cube up into the form of a Cross,
when the hidden man of the heart, represented by the
middle square, will be seen surrounded by the other
five perfect squares, which correspond to the five
purified senses. The upright line of spirit - B -
conjoined with the horizontal line of matter - J -
indicates that in the perfect man balance and harmony
has been attained, and as these lines form a Cross, we
have an adumbration of the method by which such
balance is necessarily attainable, the Cross having
always been regarded as the gateway to fuller and more
abundant life.

Before leaving the three lines radiating from the
point of a cube, there is a further point which may
not be without interest. Just before an E.A. is
entrusted with the Secrets of the Degree he is told to
stand “perfectly erect, feet formed in a square,” his
“body thus being considered to be an emblem of” his
mind, and his “feet, of the rectitude of his actions.”
It will be evident that his body and feet are thus
aligned along the three edges of a cube, which were
equated above with intellect, will, and feelings,
among other things. The upright line refers to
intellect (or mind), and the other two lines, will and
feelings, the mainsprings of actions. Incidently it
may be remarked that the erect body refers in a hidden
way to the Plumb Rule, the feet to the Square, and
from this position the candidate advances to the first
regular step which is in the form of the level. He has
just been told that all Ss. Ls. and Ps. “are true and
proper signs by which to know a Freemason,” but there
is also a suggestion here of the Working Tools of the
Second Degree, which the candidate learns more about
when he becomes a F.C.

The whole glyph thus indicates the progress from the
rough ashlar to the living stone. You will no doubt
recall that St. Peter in one of his Epistles exhorts
his readers in this strain: “Be ye living stones,
built up into a spiritual house,” and you may also
have heard the exhortation of Cornelius Agrippa, one
of the medieval alchemists: “Be ye transformed from
dead stones into living philosophical stones.”

Our goal is to become living stones fit for the
habitation not made with hands, eternal in the
heavens, the Heavenly Jerusalem, of which Solomon’s
Temple with its middle chamber, containing “certain
Hebrew characters, alluding to God, T.G.A.O.T.U.,” and
also our Masonic Lodges are earthly types. In the
vision of the Apocalypse at the end of the V.S.L.,
this city had twelve gates, it was four- square, and
the length, breadth, and height were all equal; its
wall was 144 cubits, the measure of a man who is an
angel, square man, the perfect man. There was no
temple, but the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb were
the temple of it. The City had no need of Sun or Moon,
because the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb
was the light therefor. (In our earthly Lodges we have
lesser lights - “the Sun, the Moon, and the Master of
the Lodge”). From the temple flowed a river of living
water beside which was the tree of life, whose leaves
were for the healing of nations. (In our earthly
Lodges we depict “an ear of corn, near to a fall of
water”)

I will end this section by showing how the tetractys
can be combined with the triangle, the perfect ashlar,
and the centre, into a comprehensive glyph of the
Masonic process of regeneration, The tetractys
referred to the perfection of nature as a
manifestation of T.G.A.O.T.U. Joining the three outer
points we get the equilateral triangle representing
the over-arching realities of Wisdom, Strength, and
Beauty, the trine attributes of Deity, which are the
ultimate terms of human activity; within is the
centre, the point from which creation commences in the
physical world. BY drawing the three radiating lines
from the centre, the perfect ashlar emerges
symbolising the perfection of manhood bounded by
Wisdom, Strength, and Beauty.

In conclusion, I would like to emphasize that in many
respects this study represents an individual point of
view, the acceptance of which is obligatory upon no
one. It may be likened to a bunch of flowers culled
from many gardens; I have merely supplied the cord
binding the whole together, at the same time taking
the liberty of adding a few blossoms of my own. I put
it forward with all sincerity in the hope that it may
assist Brethren, not only to appreciate some of the
hidden implication of our Ritual, but to make the
Ritual and all it stands for, a living issue for us
all.

SO MOTE IT BE.

Sully gets Godwin'd

Not a good day for Sully as he decides to call anyone who disagrees with him ( by inferance) of thinking like hitler.

Ace calls Godwin's Law on Sully's talking about torture.

There is a tradition in many Usenet newsgroups that once such a comparison is made, the thread is over, and whoever mentioned the Nazis has automatically lost whatever argument was in progress. Godwin's law thus practically guarantees the existence of an upper bound on thread length in those groups. Many people understand Godwin's law to mean this, although (as is clear from the statement of the law above) this is not the original formulation.

Under USENET rules Sully has now lost his arguments on torture

More Wonderful news for the Dutch people.....

Now it is easier for them to Kill their Patients. Yes in a state where the doctors get paid by the government the doctors now have more leway to pressure people who might cost the state a lot of money to just "give it up and die"

It will take us a while before the islands of American Euthanasia become that progressive. Last I heard the state of Oregan was fighting for the rights for people on Medicare and Medicaid to be euthanized.

I just thought people would have learned with HMOs... never give people the power to pay for your care and decide when you can live or die.

especially when those people are your government

To Answer Sully's question....

GAY VERSUS GAY ON IRAN: Why has the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) been so silent and craven with regard to the Iranian government's brutal suppression of gay freedom? Principled leftist Doug Ireland wants to know - and he deserves great credit for pursuing this story so assiduously.

Sully
Sully Sully

the answer is obvious.

IGLHRC hates the "neocon" philosophy about foriegn policy

If they tried to raise awareness about what was going on in Iran they would have to advocate something would be done to stop it.

To do that they would have to support some one like George Bush. And they would rather have sex with a woman ( the gay males.. not the lesbians) then do that.

IMAM asked to sit in the corner

Hat tip to the Lizoid Army at LGF

A spanish Judge decides telling people how to beat their wives can be punished by 22 days in jail and a civics class

ADRID -- An imam who wrote a book on how to beat your wife without leaving marks on her body has been ordered by a judge in Spain to study the country's constitution.
The judge told Mohamed Kamal Mustafa, imam of a mosque in the southern resort of Fuengirola, to spend six months studying three articles of the constitution and the universal declaration of human rights.
Mr. Mustafa was sentenced to 15 months in jail and fined about $2,600 last year after being found guilty of inciting violence against women.
A judge released him after 22 days in jail on the condition that he undertake a re-education course.

and where did the Judge get this Insane idea

two words "Socialist Government"

The Spanish government has set up a commission to find ways for the Muslim community to regulate itself. A central recommendation is that imams speak Spanish and have a basic knowledge of human rights and Spanish law.

Yes because -Clearly- Education has helped to stop terrorism and brutal sharia islamism in Palestinian communities

oh wait it hasn't

Screw the ACLU

Ya know... the ACLU gets a bad rap most of the time but this is not one of those times.

Hellerstein ordered the release of 74 pictures and three videotapes from the Abu Ghraib prison, potentially opening the military up to more embarrassment from a scandal that stirred outrage around the world last year when photos of abuse became public.

The photographs covered by Thursday's ruling were taken by a soldier. A military policeman who saw them turned them over to the Army. Some may be duplicates of photos already seen by the public.

An appeal of Hellerstein's ruling is expected.

Gen. John P. Abizaid, commander of U.S. Central Command, said that releasing the photos would hinder his work against terrorism.

The American Civil Liberties Union sought release of the photographs and videotapes as part of an October 2003 lawsuit demanding information on the treatment of detainees in U.S. custody.

Ya know... UNLESS you have evidence that these pictures show abuse before or after the time already admited to by the US government, what is the point?

The point is to make the photos public and slap the administration in the face which has been probably the most anti-aclu administration in some time.

This is the kind of stunt that gives creedence to the stories about the ACLU being part of a communist front to destroy america

stop this garbage unless the photo's are relevant or be worthy of the contempt of all right thinking americans

Still not buying the "sham prosecution" card

But this story over on National Review about D.A Earle allowing a film crew to follow his hunt of Delay makes me wonder

The resulting film is called The Big Buy, made by Texas filmmakers Mark Birnbaum and Jim Schermbeck. "Raymond Chandler meets Willie Nelson on the corner of Wall Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in The Big Buy, a Texas noir political detective story that chronicles what some are calling a 'bloodless coup with corporate cash,'" reads a description of the picture on Birnbaum's website, markbirnbaum.com. The film, according to the description, "follows maverick Austin DA Ronnie Earle's investigation into what really happened when corporate money joined forces with relentless political ambitions to help swing the pivotal 2002 Texas elections, cementing Republican control from Austin to Washington DC."

I still think Delay should resign but he may have a point

We made the middle east safe for democracy... now europe

More good stuff from Brussels Journal.

"No. The constitution has to be approved. We just have to wait for a new French president [expected in 2009]. Mr. [Atzo] Nicolaï [Minister of European affairs of the Netherlands], told me that the constitution is not dead in the Netherlands. The Commission should give positive signals instead!"

These wonderful words are from the EU commission president

read about how EU parlimentarians reacted to some of his fun words

Hate to say I told you so......

To all you folks who say that Gay Marriage and Gay Civil Unions won't lead to normalized polygamy ( which if we are going to go ahead and give gays all that stuff I don't see any reasons we leave the poly folk out) take a look at this pioneer in gay rights ( Hat tip to Michelle Malkin who I would marry in a trio if she let me.)

The Netherlands and Belgium were the first countries to give full marriage rights to homosexuals. In the United States some politicians propose “civil unions” that give homosexual couples the full benefits and responsibilities of marriage. These civil unions differ from marriage only in name.

Meanwhile in the Netherlands polygamy has been legalised in all but name. Last Friday the first civil union of three partners was registered. Victor de Bruijn (46) from Roosendaal “married” both Bianca (31) and Mirjam (35) in a ceremony before a notary who duly registered their civil union.

But when asked how he deals with what any sane man should hate having two women p!$$ed off at you this sage advice was offered

Asked by journalists to tell the secret of their peculiar relationship, Victor explained that there is no jealousy between them. “But this is because Mirjam and Bianca are bisexual. I think that with two heterosexual women it would be more difficult.” Victor stressed, however, that he is “a one hundred per cent heterosexual” and that a fourth person will not be allowed into the “marriage.” They want to take their marriage obligations seriously: “to be honest and open with each other and not philander.”

So not only did the first US court cases for Polygamist rights come out after the major push of Lawrence V Texas... now we see in europe the same door that was first opened to gays no letting in Polygamy.

does ANYONE now see that those people who say it opens the door for all kinds of odd relationships had a point?

UPDATE
and looks like some other folks got on the same gimmic as me

Ace
also seems to be caught up on the bisexual angle so i think he might have gotten this from me....NIF: Serenity picks it up from ACE ( and if they have a track back I can't find it) and hubs and spokes also picks up on the continuation of the slippery slope.

So did I inspire these or did Ace pick it up off of Malkin and get surprised in similar ways to me "the world may never know"

IT IS NOT REAL

The Came for our violent cartoons.... and you were not with us then. They came after the smokers... you were not with the smokers then.

But this Shkite has gone to to far now people.

An AFA spokeswoman in Washington said the unions worry that moviegoers will take away impressions that will make it more difficult for flight attendants to "earn the trust and respect of passengers."

It is a movie.... It is not real

Because in the real world Jodie Foster didn't invent a plane

Nor was she an FBI agent

those things happen in MOVIES

Brad Pitt is not an international Con Artist, nor is he the delusion of a Domestic Terrorist group leader.

These things are not REAL.

Back in the bad old days of the 50s and 60s the sexy stewardess stereotype evolved.... and that is the way things came out. But it evolved because stewardesses were usually very attractive people.

This is different

This is a movie which if you've seen the Preview you've pretty much seen 2/3rds of the movie is clearly... A MOVIE

you are not exposed to stories of flight crews kidnapping people why

because that doesn't happen in the REAL world.

Nor do most kids think if they shoot some one with a gun like the cartoons used to do that they will be ok.

Insane people do... but we don't make rules for insane people

well... Unless your in a Union

teacher Teacher (kick it ok cupid style)

Hand-Raiser
You are 57% Rational, 57% Extroverted, 28% Brutal, and 28% Arrogant.

You are the Hand-Raiser, that annoying kid in class who always had an
answer for everything. No doubt, as a child you probably sat in the
front of the class, anxiously waving your hand back and forth in the
air while your teacher desperately tried to avoid calling on you
because you were the ONLY fucking kid that answered her questions.
Clearly, the key traits of your personality are your rationality and
your extroversion. You are like a little talkative calculator, in other
words. You also tend to be rather gentle and less arrogant than most
people. So what is your defect, then? Well, you're boring, and when
you're not boring, you are just plain annoying with your ultra-logical
responses and constant need to talk to others. So keep waving that hand
in the air, son. I'm still not calling on you. You are too logical, you
talk too much, and your humility and gentleness only makes me hate you
more, because they make me feel like I almost SHOULDN'T hate you. But I
do. Big time.

To put it less negatively:

1. You are more RATIONAL than intuitive.

2. You are more EXTROVERTED than introverted.

3. You are more GENTLE than brutal.

4. You are more HUMBLE than arrogant.

Compatibility:

Your exact opposite is the Brute.

Other personalities you would probably get along with are the Braggart, the Haughty Intellectual, and the Robot.

If you scored near fifty percent for a certain trait (42%-58%), you
could very well go either way. For example, someone with 42%

close enough to being an extrovert to be classified that way as well.
Below is a list of the other personality types so that you can

Sully we hardly knew thee...

Over on Prism Warden we get to watch the train wreck that was once one of the bright eyes of the blogosphere Andrew Sullivan.

. . every moment we spend obsessing about the enemy within is one moment not spent spreading the message without. The thrill of exposure, the momentary feeling of self-righteousness and power that outing brings, may often surpass in excitement the daily grind of changing minds and witnessing to the truth. man I sure read a lot

I wonder what Sean Hannity Et. Al will say

Over on Gayorbit I saw something that reminded me of the movie snakeyes. Nicholas Cage plays a semi-dirty cop who does the right thing, and the celebrity status of it exposes his prior sins to the world.

Well this woman who was halled out by all the "Cultural Conservative" pundits has proven to be a tad less wellll.... Culturally conservative.

“Suddenly, looking down at my drug pouch,” Smith wrote, “I realized that I would rather have died in my apartment than have done those drugs with Brian Nichols. If the cops were going to bust in here and find me dead, they were not going to find drugs in me when they did the autopsy. I was not going to die tonight and stand before God, having done a bunch of ice up my nose.”

All those folks talking about her christ driven convictions.... I bet they feel a nice kidney punch to their integrity right about now.

But somehow I doubt many of them will be talking about this

Over in Raging RINO land

We came up with the idea of a "watering hole" something where we would try to focus the POWER OF OUR BLOGGING on a single topic.

So, I designate our fearless leader the Commissar as the second Watering Hole, and the subject is Ronnie Earle and Tom Delay. Glad to see the Majority Leader get his comeuppance? Think he's being set up? Is Ronnie Earle a partisan hack or a man of principle? Will the Republicans spend the next 3 years in a cloud of scandal? Let us know what you think.

So let me answer those questions in order

#1) Glad he got smacked with his hand in the cookie jar yes... not sure that counts as come upance. I hate olde school political slimyness in my leaders and that fits Tom Delay to a T
#2) kinda sorta... i think the prosecution is setting up an easy case to try to put him in jail ( but his actual criminal conduct is much more nebulous) I think they may have info of something bigger and just can't prove it... so they are doing it this way.
#3) I say its a little of collum A and a little of collum B. I think he is using this for his own political gain
#4) Dude.... where you been for the last 5 years now ;-)

-Mark Coffey with the questions-

Mark brings up a powerful point in his own blog

There have been some notable missteps, though, the biggest in 1994 when he went after GOP Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison for allegedly misusing state telephones for political business. At a pretrial hearing, the judge questioned the admissibility of the prosecution’s evidence and Earle declined to present a case. That led to Senator Hutchison’s acquittal, and many saw the DA as an amateur.

and IIRC 94 was when Kay Bailey had just given the texas Democrats a nice black eye....

So he Earle does have some political hackery in his past to give the charges legs.

The Commissar himself still has his grand jury out.

So I think its good we get sum of the sliminess and porkiness out of the gop leadership in the house

The Greatest Story Never Told
The Relationship of the Gentile and the Torah
By Ariel Bar Tzadok

The Universal Laws as Given to Adam

Now that you have an understanding of the legitimacy of the Oral tradition, I will now introduce you to a Rabbinic method of Biblical interpretation. This method takes a text and reads into it certain things which do not appear obvious on the surface. A reader who is unaware of Rabbinic tradition might argue that anyone, therefore, can interpret anything one wants from any verse of scripture. This is totally untrue. The holy Rabbinic Sages never made anything up. On the contrary, they only spoke what they were allowed. Permission from Heaven had to be received in order to reveal the Divinely ordained rules of the Oral tradition.

According to our Sages, the six universal laws of social morality were all commanded to Adam concealed within the meaning of the Hebrew words that G-d spoke to him when forbidding him to eat of the Tree of Knowledge, Good and Evil. Being that prior to the fall Adam was of a far greater spiritual stature than we his children are today, he understood G-d's concealed meanings within every Divine Word spoken.

In Genesis 2:16-17, it is written, "And the L-rd G-d commanded Adam, saying: Of every tree in the garden you may surely eat. But from the Tree of Knowledge, Good and Evil you may not eat of it, for on the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

The holy Rabbis have revealed that the statement, "And the L-rd G-d commanded" through Biblical exegesis (on Hosea 5:1) shows that the word "commanded" is used with regards to the forbiddance of idolatry. So, with one holy Word of the Torah, G-d is implying the complete forbiddance of idolatry.

The simple mention of the Name of G-d in this verse is said to be related to a similar mention of the holy Name in Lev. 24:16. Just as that reference forbids blasphemy, so here is the same prohibition discreetly concealed.

The word "commanded" refers to the prohibition against murder. A similar mention of the word is used in Gen. 9:6 where the prohibition against murder is spelled out.

The word "saying" is also used in Jeremiah 3:1. There it is used with regards to the prohibition against immorality. So it is interpreted to mean the same here.

The prohibition against theft is clear and obvious. The Tree of Knowledge and the entire Garden belonged to G-d. For Adam to violate the commandment not to eat of the Fruit of the Tree of Knowledge means that he stole that fruit.

By using the double Name of G-d (L-rd G-d, HaShem Elokim) there is a reference to the universal attribute of justice, symbolized by the Name Elohim. This Name is usually translated as "G-d" but the Bible also uses the word to refer to a judge (ref. Exodus 22:27). Therefore, the mere mention of this Name in this verse teaches us the prohibition against injustice.

Now, I do not claim that this manner of Biblical interpretation is the most easy and clear path to follow. Even my own logic and rationale can pick apart this interpretation and claim that the Rabbis have read into the text something that is not there. Yet, I do not do this, for I have faith in the word of G-d and in the words of G-d's servants, the Rabbis.

I have already mentioned previously that Rabbinic interpretation is not some haphazard work that the Rabbis perform so as to prove an agenda. On the contrary, the only agenda that Rabbis have ever had is to remain as unswervingly faithful to the original meanings of the Bible as is humanly possible. The foregoing understanding of Gen. 2:16 might seem far fetched for those of you not familiar with how G-d conceals giant matters within each and every word and letter of His holy Torah. Nonetheless, for those of you with a spiritual mind and heart, you can come and see the glory of the wisdom of the L-rd.

The History of the Sins of the Pre-Flood Children of Adam According to the secret tradition of the holy Rabbis, i.e., the Kabbalah, prior to the fall Adam was a far greater person than he was afterwards. Prior to the fall Adam was more of a spiritual being than a physical one. He included within him all the souls of mankind. This does not only mean that all souls would come forth from him, but rather that each and every cell of his body was an individual, conscious soul. Adam was thus the collective soul of all mankind. It is of no wonder then that the Hebrew word for mankind and the name of the father of mankind is one and the same: Adam.

Awareness of the essential unity of all souls is important to truly understand what happened to mankind, as a race, due to the act of Adam. Mankind, together, suffered Adam's fate, not as his progeny, but as part of his collective soul. The sin that blemished Adam's collective soul caused that collective soul to fragment. Each soul, therefore, became an independent entity. Each newly independent soul now individually had the responsibility to return to G-d. Adam's sin was more of a blemish than a fall. Adam lost his original spiritual stature, but he never lost his communion with G-d. This is very clear in the Bible. In fact, we see that both Cain and Abel had a very living relationship with G-d. The only thing that changed this was their individual actions. Therefore, the Christian concept of "original sin" which damns all souls to Hell unless they are "saved" has no true Biblical foundation.

The blemish in Adam's soul affected everything around him. The Rabbis teach that as a result of Adam's blemish, not only did he cause himself to have a physical body which eventually would die, he also introduced to the entire world the absolute dichotomy of body and soul, wherein which both would exist simultaneously for only a while, later to separate. The result of Adam's blemish led to the breach of harmony and unity between the spiritual and physical dimensions. Originally they existed together as one. Now, due to Adam, they could only exist side by side, but never fully joined together as one. The holy Rabbis teach that Adam blemished all six days of creation. Therefore, the effects of his blemish was to last for 6,000 years. At this time, his blemish would be fully healed and a new era of mankind would begin. This is the meaning of the coming of Mashiah (the Messiah). From the beginning then, until now, mankind's purpose has been to rectify the world, bit by bit, bringing us eventually to the dawn of the new era.

Originally, after Adam's banishment from the Garden of Eden, the souls of all mankind were to serve as G-d's priests to collectively work to rectify the now blemished world. Cain, the first born, by right of birth was destined to be High Priest before G-d. Yet, although Cain offered a sacrifice of his heart, from the toils of his labor with the earth, G-d, nonetheless, rejected Cain's sacrifice for Cain did not offer what G-d had commanded. And Cain knew this very well! G-d had cursed the earth and its fruit. Cain knew this, but didnÕt seem to care. He made the mistake of thinking that what was in his heart was more important than the Word of G-d in his mind. What was in Cain's heart might have been well and good, but G-d demands of us to give what He commands, not what we decide to give. This is the test of faith.

It is the younger brother Abel that brings the sacrifice that G-d Himself has ordained, the sacrifice of life and of blood. Remember, that when Adam and Eve were banished from Eden G-d clothed them in animal skins. Nowhere does the Bible imply that these skins were specially created for this purpose, rather the impression is that the skins must have come from animals. The implication is that these animals were sacrificed. As it was done for Adam so did Abel follow suit. Cain should have done the same and prior to his brother Abel doing so. Nonetheless, Cain felt that the offering of his own heart and labors would be acceptable before G-d. This is, after all, many a time the case. G-d, however, rejected Cain's sacrifice. Cain, in turn, rejected G-d and proceeded to kill his brother Abel as an act of revenge. The one who was to be the High Priest had fallen from his esteemed status and had become an agent of evil.

As punishment for his crime, G-d, who Himself has ordained organized capital punishment (ref. Gen. 9:6), decrees that rather than the death penalty, Cain is to live in exile, banished from the face of G-d. Abel's blood is not to be avenged with the death of Cain for another seven generations.

Cain took his wife and moved to the other side of the earth. Just who this wife was and where she came from the Bible does not mention. Jewish tradition, however, does mention the origins of Cain's wives. These women are said to be the twin sisters that were born both with Cain and Abel.

The Bible teaches that after Cain had his first son, he built the first city. It is interesting to note that the first act of exile was the development of urbanization. There is obviously a connection here between the development of urbanization and the original state of banishment from the face of G-d. This connection needs to be explored.

Unlike allot of TV shows converted to movie format this was not a family guy episode on steroids. While the humor was largely the same as family guy in many areas however the humor was even more sick.

What I don’t grok however is why they still bleeped out things in the dvd.

Best used character had to be Quagmire. The delivery of all the quagmire lines are perfect.

This DVD is more offensive then Beavis and Butthead Do America and a better artistic product to

#2) People tend to have a mild distrust of government as a rule.. when government melts down people will believe crazy things.

This is why I am not mad at all that the wild and crazy rumors happened.

A Republican Vice President nominating an Independent Former Congressperson turned University Chancellor to be his Vice President.... Not plausable. Not even if it was all about a gimmick of having the first woman Vice President. Could they have had her as a William Weld/Collin Powell/George Pataki/Rudy Guliani stripe of republican? of course they could. Wouldn't have changed things signifigantly for any of the over reaching plots at all...

It would in fact make the conservative daughter angle more plausible.

The creator of the show said he wanted the first woman president to be politically neutral so she could be representative of anyone... well in so doing it your probably going to make everyone unhappy with you.

Now. First thing she does ( effectively) as VP is put the military into a "don't f- with us right now" position. This was very good and I think having the president's chief of staff badger her about it... less then good.

The President calls her in to his sick bed and asks her to resign so the American people can get a president more like him... What they should have done was had her say "Mr. President, as you are incapacitated I don't need your resignation. And second sir, you asked me to take this job." they try to play her as the soft mushy person when we needed to see some one with more political will.

With the nature of the American role in the world being what it is, the idea that any president would want to push some one out of the line of succession is very dangerous to the country.

They played her as a very effective Vice President pushed into the gap by the death of a president. Her handling of the Nigeria situation was also very much what a president -should- do in that kind of situation.

Whomever wrote her speech to the nation needed to be beaten, drawn and quartered, boiled in oil, then fired.... it was just god awful even by the standards of god awful political speeches done in tv and movies... heck it was so bad even the Bush and Kerry campaigns could have done better.

Things I'd have done different If it were my show
  1. Made her a Liberal Republican Mayor turned VP (Rudy with boobs)
  2. Have the conservative daughter problem child be the elder sibling
  3. have the rivalry with the speaker go back to her days in the house ( it was a good angle in the contender which was writen by the same guy)
  4. have some one more signifigant the the Secretary of Labor hand in the resignation.

those are the four things I'd change right now

"We're not all barking moonbats"

I was hearing defenses of the Anti-War (Anti-America) March by many folks on the talk radio today.

They were advocating that the majority of the folks there were just normal every day folks.

I'm not going to bother to try to take you opinion as an "honest disagrement."

Look at Ramsey Clark. Look at what he has said and done in his life. Look at the vile and repugnant things he has done in support of demonstrably evil men all over the world.

Look at cynthia Mckinney... blaming the jews for her loss, blaming the jews for 9-11, taking money from Terrorist groups.

Look at George Galloway. Look at his kissing up and appeasing darned near every non european dictator on the planet.

Listen to some of the Insane things Mother Sheehan has said. Attacking jews, saying this country isn't worth fighting for..etc.

Take a look at who the marquis players were in this big rally of all the marchers and ask yourself this question

"If this march was just for the anti-war movement, why did it feature so prominently so many far end leftists and communists?"

The answer is very simple... it was a Moonbat parade. The moonbats organized it, the moonbats planned it. and what people there were who were "normal" you were their claim to credibility.

You were their beard.

Do you think for one moment if this protest was more about the war and how the war was wrong their are people on the stage that main stream democratic party politicians run in terror from?

You see this is the problem... its kind of like a wife living with an abusive spouse "Oh he's not really like this"

and it is the same thing with the gay pride parade.... You don't see "Homosexual family man" as the prominent part of the parade because -THAT- is not the audience the parade is made for.

and your supporting the Gay Pride Parade as it is, just as the people who support insane marxist-lenninists and marxist-stalinist movements like ANSWER the more those groups will be given credibility, and the less any of your legitimate concerns will be given any credibility

You can't make this up folks

It is Longwang.... No I'm serious

So whats going on in my life so far

I am questioning my choice of a career ( and to that end my choice of a major)
I am questioning If I should try again with a woman who hurt me a whole lot-but whom I have forgiven-
I am commiting myself to the better part of 3 or 4 more years of school MINIMUM.

These are things rattlin around in my head right now... g-d knows what the answers are. But then he tends to give me answers just when I need them, not always when it is easy but when I need them.

Best Take down of Mother Cindy Ever

All other bloggers should stop attacking Mother Sheehan Sweetness and Light has owned her more then I thought anyone can be owned.
Secondly, he is a coward who arrogantly refuses to meet with the people who pay his salary.

[This does not necessarily include Cindy, who has refused to pay her taxes since her son’s death a year and a half ago. Mother Sheehan had previous tax liens for 1996 and 1998. The latter seems to have only been paid off by using the insurance from her son’s death.]

But we'll see how it goes

You ever here some one say....

I'll take this case all the way to the supreme court?

either they are rich or frequently trailer trash ( though occassionally other people are that firm about things)

well here is an example of Rich Vs Rich and Trailer trash

Former Playboy model Anna Nicole Smith is going to the Supreme Court. Justices said Tuesday they would consider Smith's appeal over the fortune of her 90-year-old late husband.

The stripper-turned-reality television star stands to win as much as $474 million that a bankruptcy judge initially said she was entitled to. The case will be argued before the justices early next year.

She has not gotten any money from the estate of J. Howard Marshall II, an oil tycoon who married her in 1994 when he was 89 and she was 26. Marshall, one of Texas' wealthiest men, died in 1995.

At issue for the court is a relatively mundane technical issue: when may federal courts hear claims that are also involved state probate proceedings. But the facts of the case are eye-catching

Yeah they had to end it with eye catching

The initial $474 million award was reduced to about $89 million, then thrown out altogether by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco. The appeals court said that a Texas probate court's decision that the oilman's son was his sole heir should stand.

The appeals court decision, that federal courts in California never had jurisdiction, erased a lower court finding that she was entitled to compensatory and punitive damages because Marshall's son tried to keep her from receiving money from his father's estate.

The Supreme Court filings included only a hint of the nastiness from the family fight. The dispute has involved a "a bizarre set of events," justices were told in a filing by G. Eric Brunstad Jr., a Yale Law School professor who represents Marshall's son.

MAN I wish they had live broadcasts of the US Supreme court

lets put some reality to the calls for 06 to be the new 94

But the party's problems are structural and can be explained by three numbers: 21, 34 and 45. According to the network exit polls, 21 percent of the voters who cast ballots in 2004 called themselves liberal, 34 percent said they were conservative and 45 percent called themselves moderate.

Those numbers mean that liberal-leaning Democrats are far more dependent than conservatively inclined Republicans on alliances with the political center. Democrats second-guess themselves because they have to.

But we all know that self-identification is a bit problematic ( as far lefty reporters often claim to be "middle of the road")

Or consider the lay of the land for the 2006 congressional elections. It takes 218 seats to form a majority in the House of Representatives. Kerry carried only 180 congressional districts, according to the Almanac of American Politics. Put another way, Democrats, according to the Almanac, now hold and have to defend 41 House districts that Bush carried. Republicans are defending only 18 districts that Kerry carried.

This could be the Kryptonite here. While we do have such famous examples ( south Dakota) of ticket splitting that obviously can't be the whole story.

The republicans in the house and in the senate just have more safe seats.

The CIA is off the hook

for now. Here Is a translation of an article from Brazil about a book chronicling the fall of Allende.

here is the money shot of the article

Allende, frightened by terror, ran by the corridors of the second floor of the palace shouting: "It is necessary to surrender". Before he could do it, Patricio of the Guard, an agent of Fidel Castro and direct responsible of Chilean president´s security, waited Allende returned to his writing-desk and it shot him in the head with a machine-gun burst. Immediately, he put on the body of Allende a gun - making believe that he was murdered by the military attackers and returned in a rush to first floor of the flaming building where they waited for other Cubans to leave. The group left La Moneda palace in complete silence and after minutes took refuge in Cuba´s embassy, located near from the palace.

as much as I dislike good ole Kissinger seems he was totally off the hook for killing the man -helping the coup is an entirely different matter-

but the book, and the review goes on to show why even that might not be a bad thing

The book of Ammar accurately describes the last months of the "Unidade Popular" government and, mainly, it shows the advanced degree of direct control that Fidel Castro had managed to install -- by means of its hundreds of spies from the DGI (a Cuban service of intelligence), by means of its operators and implanted influence agents in Santiago --, on the Rescuing president Allende, his ministers and even his friends and more intimate collaborators.

The Greatest Story Never Told
The Relationship of the Gentile and the Torah
By Ariel Bar Tzadok

The Oral Tradition, for Jew and Gentile

According to the simple Biblical narrative, the only commandment which G-d gave to Adam was to prohibit him from eating from the Tree of Knowledge. The Bible does not mention of any other laws given. The narrative continues with the story of Cain and Abel. Yet, nowhere is it recorded what Cain and Abel were supposed to offer as sacrifice. Why then did G-d accept one and reject the other? What set of criteria was used? Was this criteria known to Adam and his sons? The Bible does not say.

Also, when was the commandment not to murder given? Who told Cain that it was wrong to murder his brother? Prior to the flood, there was no written Biblical injunction of law. If so, how could G-d consider any human action to be bad and thus accountable to punishment? Without a knowledge of law and morality, how could the generation of the flood have known their actions to be evil before G-d? Some might wish to say that everyone knows deep down the difference between right and wrong. But this is not always true. Different cultures hold different values. What one culture may hold as perfectly acceptable another culture might find repugnant.

Modern logic claims that everyone knows the difference between basic right and wrong; and that even without the giving of such laws, the pre-flood generations should have known better, even without being told. While this logic might sound good to us today, it does not have any value by Biblical standards. According to the Bible, (ref. Lev.), ignorance of the law lessens a violator's punishment, or exempts him entirely. Therefore, if punishment came, as we see with regards to the flood, then we can logically conclude that certain laws were given (and violated) and the Bible does not outrightly record the giving of these laws.

The holy Rabbis teach us a point that is essential for any student of the Bible to learn and to learn well. Not everything was written in the Bible. As with every other ancient culture, the nation of Israel held a very rich Oral tradition which fills in many of the blanks in the Biblical narrative. Over the many years, the great majority of these Oral traditions have been written down and this is how we know of them today.

The Jewish Oral tradition teaches us that indeed, upon the banishment from Eden, Adam and thus all his children were commanded to observe certain universal commandments. Numbering only six, these universal laws were given to Adam so that his progeny would learn how to create and establish a society based upon morality, righteousness and human rights. The six universal laws given to Adam are as follows:

1. No idolatry
2. No blasphemy
3. No murder
4. No immorality
5. No theft
6. No injustice

Short, simple and direct to the point. It is these six principles that human society was originally commanded to observe. The Bible does not overtly record this, yet the Bible does record mankind being held accountable for them.

After the flood, G-d repeated these laws to Noah and all his children with the addition (Gen. 9:4) of the forbiddance of eating part of a living animal. Yet, other than with this last exception, none of these universal laws are recorded outright in the Bible. Even though G-d punishes Cain for murder and later destroys an entire generation for similar sins, nowhere is there recorded the giving of the law that defined such actions as sin.

The Bible does delete many important facts, that for whatever reason known to G-d He chose not to include. For example, where did Cain and later Seth and others find their wives? The Bible does not record their births. Where did they come from? The Bible also doesn’t mention the names of any of the pre-flood matriarchs and mothers with the exception of Eve (and one or two ). Are we to assume that the other fathers of old were born without mothers simply because the Bible doesn’t mention any mothers? Obviously such type of thinking is quite insulting to human intelligence. We take it for granted that although certain things are not mentioned they are, nonetheless, still there.

Jewish tradition and religion, since its Sinatic foundations, have been built upon a two-fold type of knowledge. The first being the absolute written Word of G-d and the second, equally important and authoritative, the Oral tradition which provided the comprehensive meaning and official interpretation of the written Word. Only with the proper combination of the two can the Bible ever be properly understood.

This is why Jewish scholars throughout two thousand years of Christianity have always dismissed the Christian claim of replacing the Jewish religion. Although the Church has adopted the Jewish Bible, they added to it (the "New Testament") and thereby superimposed a new meaning over the Biblical texts that is not supported by the written Word and by its official interpretation the Oral Tradition. Because the Church could never justify its existence in light of the authoritative Jewish Oral Tradition, it has rejected the Tradition and condemned it as the "work of man" instead of being the divinely inspired Oral Tradition received by men from G-d. This breach of continuity is what has led the sincere Christian to being almost totally uninformed as to the true teachings of the Bible. Any attempt to introduce the Christian into the true teachings of the Bible must necessarily include a Christian willingness to accept the authority of the Rabbis and Jewish Sages as being the true possessors of the authoritative Oral Tradition, which reflects and carries the same authority as does the written Word.

Hey... you could try Capitalism

Where government's and IGO's fail to see a solution a private think tank ( in france

turn the opium in Afghanistan to the cause of good, not the cause of evil.

why did they not jump on this cause that would help their farmers, help people in pain, and make the drugs cheaper?
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime said the proposal would offer little attraction to opium farmers as they would earn less selling their crop on the legal market than on the black market.

Illegal opium is estimated to be worth more than 100 dollars a kilogramme.

It would also undermine Afghanistan's battle against illegal narcotics, the UN body said.

"The absence of an adequate control system remains the main argument against legalisation of opium poppy cultivation in Afghanistan," it said in a statement.

"Additionally, the legalisation debate could stir confusion and raise false expectations, which could be particularly detrimental for the development of drug control in Afghanistan at this point in time," it warned.

Can they make more then selling and growing say wheat>?

yeah i thought so.

Here is an idea why not have the drug companies who would buy the poppies help supply the cost of security?

it sure as heck works here.. unfunded mandates and all that

The Greatest Story Never Told
The Relationship of the Gentile and the Torah
By Ariel Bar Tzadok

This work was written mostly for a non-Jewish audience.

It contains concepts that certain gentile and Christian groups will well recognize, whereas these same concepts may be somewhat foreign to many of my religious Jewish readers. Nonetheless, in the battle for kosher Torah, we must address the beliefs of the cults and missionaries in their own language, otherwise they may not pay attention.

Introduction
G-d's design for the universe and for man is truly unfathomable to mere human intelligence. As much as we learn about the secrets of science through our studies of technology there is still an entire realm of study that we have yet to begin to grasp. This is the study of how the Hand of the Living G-d guides mankind, Jew and Gentile alike, throughout human history. The secular skeptic will always claim that the course of human events is haphazard, with events happening coincidentally. Yet, for those blessed with spiritual insight, nothing is further from the truth.

Human civilization has certainly advanced greatly with respect to scientific development. However, there has been no reciprocal development on the side of human spirituality. Technology has rocketed forward within the last one hundred years. On the other hand, spiritual development has only inched forward over the past 5,000 years. As with all things, to this there is a reason.

In the beginning of the Bible there are a number of tales that have become legend in western civilization. The tales of creation, Adam and Eve, the Garden of Eden, Cain and Abel, the Flood and the Tower of Babel are all well known to us. Or are they?

What do we really understand about the earliest periods of human civilization? Really not much.

For although we all have access to the Biblical stories, much of the teachings of these stories is not accessible to the one not trained in understanding the original Hebrew and Jewish lessons on these subjects.

The beginning chapters of Genesis document for us the beginnings of the world and the beginnings of mankind and human civilization. The Bible records these events not so as to teach us comprehensive human history, but rather to teach us the history of something specific. The beginning chapters of G-d's Torah, in the Book of Genesis record His efforts at creating a perfect human society, what went wrong and how it is supposed to be fixed. The stories in Genesis are spiritually and historically progressive, each one continuing G-d's never-ending story. One builds upon the other until finally the spiritual picture can be seen. This Biblical spiritual picture outlines the whole course of human events.

Since the days of Adam, G-d has worked progressively to bring mankind as a whole to an understanding of Himself. This understanding is not simply an acceptance of a theological doctrine. Rather, it has to do with individual spiritual cognizance. In other words, it is not enough that each person be told what to believe. G-d's plan is that each person come to experience G-d's spiritual reality for themselves. Judging from modern day spiritual standards one might come to the conclusion that G-d has failed miserably in this task. But again, this is not the truth.

True, human spiritual understanding has not come a very long way since the days of the ancients. One of the reasons for this is that collective human spiritual understanding has not traveled in a straight line, meaning the shortest distance between two points, i.e., where we were to where we are going. There is one variable in humanity that enables us and, in essence, causes us to apparently set our own course through life. This variable is the G-d given right of Free Will. It is Free Will that separates mankind from the rest of created beings. Free Will enables us to chose our individual and collective paths. As individuals or as a society we can chose to enhance ourselves or to degrade ourselves. Whatever our course be, the invisible Hand of G-d, nonetheless, guides us individually and collectively to achieve that preordained purpose known in His blessed Wisdom. Only the one blessed with spiritual insight will recognize the invisible Hand of G-d that guides human history. Spiritual insight is not a bestowed gift. It is, rather, the reward for serious and honest study of G-d's Word.

This work which I will give to you now is intended to outline for you the wondrous and mysterious spiritual path that G-d has ordained for all mankind. Obviously, when I speak of all mankind, I include Jew and Gentile alike. For as long as we are all human, and we are, we are all then a part of G-d's plan. Each of us, Jew and Gentile alike, has our own unique place that G-d has created for us, and molded for us over thousands of years. This work will review the history of this plan and its progression. While this topic could fill an entire library of books, nonetheless, the basics are quite simple and easy to be related within these pages.

One point must be made perfectly clear. Unlike Christianity, Torah Judaism and the Bible does not teach that a Gentile must convert to Judaism in order to be saved. On the contrary, true salvation has always been something very different than what the Church preaches. It is clearly documented throughout the Bible that Jew and Gentile alike fulfill the Word of G-d simply by obeying G-d and following the path that He has laid down for us to walk. Nowhere in the Bible is there a call for correct doctrine. This is a man- made invention, not a creation of the blessed L-rd. From the very beginning, in the Garden of Eden, G-d has ordained for mankind commandments, which are to serve as the bedrock of human civilization.

My source of information and authority for the material that I will provide herein will be the Bible and the authoritative Oral traditions of Torah Judaism. We start with the Bible for that is the foundation of the Jewish faith. To me, as a Jew, the Bible not only outlines my personal spiritual path, it is also the history of my people. Judging from a historical point of view, the Bible is a completely Jewish book, written by Jews and for Jews. Its message, however, has been clearly appreciated by the non-Jewish world since the time Gentiles began to read the Bible and call it their own.

It must be remembered that when I refer to the Bible, I am referring to what the Christian refers to as the "Old Testament." Christians (and later the Moslems) claim that the Jewish Bible speaks about their religions and their spiritual truths. Christians claim that we Jews are blind to understanding our own scriptures and that we had suffered this spiritual blindness for 1,300 years before they came along. This type of Christian dogma is offensive and insulting to every Bible believing Jew. The Church has added insult to injury by adding another Bible to ours (their so-called "New Testament"). Herein they claim is our Jewish Bible explained in the right way. Yet, after studying the claims of the Church, Rabbis, for almost 2,000 years, have consistently pointed out to the Christian that they are not understanding the Jewish Bible and the religion of Judaism correctly. Most often our words have fallen on either deaf ears or violent ears.

The message of Judaism is really very simple. The Gentile did not need a "New" testament for them to have a relationship with the G-d of Israel. For the G-d of Israel is first and foremost the King of the universe, G-d of the Gentile and Jew alike. G-d had made a covenant with the Gentiles almost one thousand years before there were any Jews. Yet, most Gentiles, to this day, are unaware of this covenant. In fulfillment of the words of the prophet Isaiah (42:6) the Jewish people must be a ‘light to the nations’ and must proclaim to the Gentile this covenant and spiritual path.

In order to properly cover the material that deals with the Gentile's covenant relationship with G-d and the laws that they are commanded to keep, we must turn to the writings of the Torah authorities, the holy Rabbinic Sages. Throughout its history Christianity has been overtly hostile to the holy Rabbis, going so far as to portray them in their ‘New Testament’ as vile religious hypocrites (ref. Matt.23:13-33, Luke 11:42-52). This slanderous portrayal of the Pharisees has been the cause of two thousand years of virulent Christian anti-Semitism. Yet, worse than this, this mean spirited evil portrayal has blocked the regular G-d loving and G-d fearing Christian from ever coming to study and see for themselves the beauty, wisdom, and Divine inspiration and favor that blessed G-d has bestowed upon these, His holy, maligned servants.

Therefore, in order to proceed and to expect my Gentile readers to accept the Divinely inspired words of the holy Sages of Israel, I feel it necessary to begin by documenting the Biblical source of Rabbinic authority. It is imperative that the Gentile world recognize that the true Bible teaches that the Rabbinic Sages, and no one else, are the true ‘keeper of the keys of the kingdom’. What the Rabbis bind on earth is bound in Heaven and what they, and they alone, permit on earth is permitted in Heaven. A Christian reader will recognize these words as the authority that is claimed by the Church (ref. Matt. 16:19). Yet, according to the Bible, this authority can only be wielded by a judge of the Torah. Only they are given the authority to interpret G-d's holy Word. So, to their Biblical source of authority do we turn.

The Biblical Authority of the Rabbinic Judge
There are so many interpretations of the Bible. In essence, the entire religions of Christianity and Islam are interpretations of the Bible. One need not be a sage to see that many Biblical interpretations are mutually exclusive of one another. So what is the Bible really saying? Who has the right to decide?

We are not the first persons to ask this question. This question has been around since Biblical times. G-d, in His infinite wisdom, knew that His spiritual Word could be understood and misunderstood in a number of different ways. Therefore, G-d Himself, ordained the proper way as to how His Word was and is to be properly understood.

G-d's Word contains His laws. Yet, the details of many of these laws are not clearly stated. G-d obviously knew this and thus ordained the law as to what the proper form for defining and directing Biblical legislation is to be. This law is found in Deut. 17:9-12.

"When a matter of judgment is hidden from you, between blood and blood, between verdict and verdict...you shall rise up and ascend to the place that HaShem shall choose. You shall come to the priest, levite or judge who will be in those days; you shall inquire and they will tell you the word of judgment. You shall do according to the word that they will tell you...and you shall be careful to do according to everything they will teach you. According to the teaching that they will teach you and according to the judgment that they will say to you, shall you do, you shall not deviate from the word that they will tell you, right or left. And the man that will act with willfulness, not listening...to the judge, that man shall die, and you shall destroy the evil from among Israel."

What is to be done when there is a question of law or Biblical understanding that has no clear answer? The L-rd directed the people to turn to the priest, levite and judge who shall be in those days (i.e., the days when the question arises). Priests and levites were the servants of the Tabernacle (and later of the Temple). As such, they were viewed as being THE experts as to the meanings of the Torah and the Oral tradition. Yet, they were not alone in this position. Even the layman of the different tribes of the house of Israel were expected to study and know the ways of the Torah. The select of this group also could serve in a judicial fashion so as to ‘interpret’ the Law of G-d for the new or changing circumstances, in accordance to Deut. 17. This is the law as outlined in the Bible.

This law, in my opinion, becomes one of the most important in light of evolving Jewish history. As is known, nothing ever stays the same. Times and lives are always in a constant state of change. Even in the generation of Joshua, after the death of Moses, changes began to occur and questions regarding the law arose.

The Bible commands the Jewish people to perform a number of different commandments, the violation of which could lead to severe punishment, including a death penalty. Yet, even with the severity of laws such as the refraining from work on the holy Sabbath, no details are given as to the practical applications of correct compliance. This can be problematic. If the law does not stipulate what is permitted and what is forbidden, how can it possibly be observed? Already in the days of Moses it is recorded (Num.15:32-36) that a man, who went out to pick up sticks on the Sabbath, was punished by stoning. This is quite a sentence. Where do we read in the Bible that the ‘work’ that this man did was forbidden? We don’t. The Bible doesn’t say it. Nonetheless, when he performed his forbidden deed it was recognized by everyone as a violation of the Sabbath. He was imprisoned awaiting response to an inquiry to G-d as to what should be this man's punishment. The penalty came back and it was most severe.

What is learned from this and many other Biblical episodes is that not everything is recorded in the Bible. The written Torah given at Mt. Sinai was never meant to be a comprehensive code which one could just read and follow. On the contrary, the written Torah raises many questions as to interpretation. For example in Deut. 6, G-d commands the Jewish people to take His words and to ‘bind them upon your hands and that they shall be frontlets between your eyes’. This is the commandment that ordains the practice of wearing tefillin (small Torah scroll portions encased in two leather boxes that are strapped to the head and arm of Jewish adult males during certain prayer services). As is clear from the Biblical text, the written Torah does not clearly say what these Tefillin are, how they are to be made or how or when they are to be worn. How then, when the children of Israel received these words from Moses, did they interpret them? How did Moses understand them? Why didn’t he write down more for us to understand?

The answers to these questions are really more simple than complicated. Based on Deut. 17, when a question arose regarding a Biblical command whose practice was unclear, the people would ask the judicial authorities for specific instruction. In the days of Moses, the Jewish people of course asked him. Moses in turn asked G-d. G-d told Moses and Moses told the people. These words were never written down. In those days there was no need to write these words down. And why? Because the written Torah had spoken and the oral interpretation was generally known. Therefore, only with regards to new things were there any questions. What we learn from all this is the absolute necessity of the existence of the Oral tradition and of its absolute authority as to the meaning and practice of the written Word.

As mentioned above, it is the authority of the Oral tradition that truly outlines correct Biblical practice and interpretation. No one has the authority to claim himself to be a judge and interpreter of the Bible unless certain criteria are met. As with any profession since Biblical days, judges had to be both learned and ordained. In Biblical days, there existed the Temple anointing, performed by a priest with anointing oil. Since the destruction of the Temple and the cessation of that ritual form, other forms have been instituted to take its place. And where did the authority come from to change such an age old ritual? From Deut. 17, of course. The authority of the judges of the law is clearly stated to be throughout all generations. Therefore, throughout Biblical times, Rabbinic times and to this day, just as the Biblical laws of the ten commandments are still in force, so is the Biblical commandment of judicial authority.

This understanding of the authority of the Biblical judges, who throughout history have been called the Rabbis, is most important. For without a full appreciation, respect and acceptance of their authority, the Bible and the other written and Oral Words of G-d will always remain closed to the general public. And this must not be so!

The true under-standings of the Bible have been lost to the gentile people from the beginnings of their reading the Bible. Remember, the Bible was written by and given to Jews. G-d's revelation to the children of Israel is unique and exclusive, as it is written, ‘He did not do so for any other nation; such judgments, they know them not.’ (Psalms 147:20). Yet, a gentile must not walk away from these words thinking that he/she therefore has no place in the word and plan of G-d. As has been already said above, the Gentile plays an essential role in the general scheme of things. Just what that is has been revealed to the Rabbis and only through them to the Gentile nations. As the judges of G-d's law and word, this is their authority here upon the earth.

WHAT IN THE HELL IS THE MATTER WITH PARENTS TODAY?

This past weekend I flew to Mackinac Island to speak to the Michigan
Leadership Conference and do a few guest shots on radio shows about the
FairTax. Finally got a chance to stay at the Grand Hotel. It was very
interesting departing the Mackinac Island airport Sunday with 1/5 mile
visibility and a 100-foot ceiling, but you don't want to listen to me
prattle on about aviation and flying. So ... I'll complain about
out-of-control kids.

We'll begin with an admission ... it seems that every generation of
Americans has something to say about the job the following generation
is doing raising their kids. Perhaps the reason is that we've seen a
steady decline in child raising for quite a few generations now. Now
the emphasis seems to be on helping a child develop a sense of self
esteem ... and that means never talling the child that what they're
doing is wrong and to knock it off.

Our first encounter with a family from hell came on a walk from the
Grand Hotel into the village. A woman was following us on the sidewalk
with three young toddler-age boys and one infant in a baby carriage.
The three boys were screaming and hitting at each other as they bumped
into everybody in sight. We finally stepped off the sidewalk to let
the family pass ... after one of the little brats grabbed Donna and
tried to hide behind her to get away from his bullying brother. Not
one word from the mother. She just goes merrily along down the
sidewalk with her screaming and out-of-control kids leaving a wake of
devastation behind them. About two hours later we were on the opposite
end of the village where we started hearing those screams again. Here
they came, the same oblivious mom and the three screaming boys chasing
and beating on each other as they made their way into their hotel.
Amazing.

The second encounter was during dinner. The restaurant was crowded ...
elbow to elbow. A family comes in to take the table next to us. Mom,
Dad, toddler and a one-year-old baby. As soon as this family was
seated the baby started screaming. The baby wasn't mad, nor sick. The
baby was playing with his mommy. He would scream at the top of his
lungs .... one of those long, loud high-pitched screams that could
raise the dead and lasts about 20 seconds. The mother would then look
at him and say "are you through making noise now?" The baby would
giggle and then scream again! Mommy would come right back with that
"are you through making noise now?" nonsense. Then she would look at
her husband and at the surrounding tables and shrug her shoulders.
Then another scream and another "are you through making noise now?"
The husband would then look around, shrug his shoulders and say "I'm
sorry."

Sorry? Stop saying you're sorry and do something, dammit! Don't ask
the little brat if he's through making noise. Tell him to STOP making
noise, and if he doesn't yank him up, take him outside and whack him
across his noisy bottom a few times. This is obviously a child that
has never been told "no" or to "stop it." Clearly these parents have
subscribed to some new and idiotic form of child psychology which says
that you can never tell your child no, and that you much allow your
child to express himself --- even if the expressions are screams in a
crowded restaurant.

How I wish that mom --- skinny, long blond hair --- could hear my words
here so that she would know what an absolute pain she and her family
were at that restaurant on Saturday night.

The Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of scotland resigns

Earlier in the month, a Sunday newspaper reported how the Labour councillor, advocate and Episcopalian priest was openly gay and was planning to remove some of the mystique traditionally surrounding the secretive organisation.

I am not sure what he was advocating but I can agree with a lot of what he had in the article

Mr Morrow said: "I have a huge passion for freemasonry. It has done wonderful things for my life.

"I don't want people to be afraid to ask us difficult questions. We have nothing to hide.

"I said from the start I wanted to be open about it and I have been making every effort to ensure this is the case. We need to be transparent if we are to break down the public's old preconceptions of us."

Mr Morrow agreed in the interview that secrets are part of the traditions of freemasonry, but insisted that anyone wishing to find out about the body could do so.

He added: "All the information is out there.

"When we talk about secrets it does not mean we are trying to hide things, it is just a test of character.

Next time you see a science study

I want you to think of this (thank you normblog)

John Ioannidis, an epidemiologist at the University of Ioannina School of Medicine in Greece, says that small sample sizes, poor study design, researcher bias, and selective reporting and other problems combine to make most research findings false. But even large, well-designed studies are not always right, meaning that scientists and the public have to be wary of reported findings.

"We should accept that most research findings will be refuted. Some will be replicated and validated. The replication process is more important than the first discovery," Ioannidis says.

In the paper, Ioannidis does not show that any particular findings are false. Instead, he shows statistically how the many obstacles to getting research findings right combine to make most published research wrong.

so folks Smoke'm if you gottem

eat those egg yolks

and for god sakes stop excersising

because without science we would have to rely on common sense to tell us those things were bad.

Surprisingly, Ioannidis says another predictor of false findings is if a field is "hot", with many teams feeling pressure to beat the others to statistically significant findings.

like oooooooooooooh Global Warming or Stem Cell Research or Food X is bad for you

but this -DID- come from a scientific study

hmmmmmm

But next time some one tells you science X is established fact... take a note from a scientist in this article

"When I read the literature, I'm not reading it to find proof like a textbook. I'm reading to get ideas. So even if something is wrong with the paper, if they have the kernel of a novel idea, that's something to think about," he says.

I need to check out a goat's entrails now to see how the weather is going

NEW YORK -- This summer's back to back superstorms are proof positive we have entered a new period of "global warming emergency," artist/citizen Barbra Streisand warns.

Streisand is back on the scene to promote her reunion disc with Barry Gibb.

Now drudge -surely- those two things couldn't be connected

I mean we all know Barbra Streisand has a degree in climatology

Thoughts about Tampa

I don't like the potholes in streets in the city of tampa proper ( while their are some outside the city of tampa proper... they are just well -smaller-). I don't like the fact so many people on the roads have cars showing Extreme Battle Damage (without the kung fu grip)

I just haven't had time cause I've been conserving what money I have to go explore the city more.

Da Popa~! V The Poopsmith

The Pope not a fan of the gays:

Our new pope is coming out against “gays in the priesthood”

I am all for tolerance and other hippie carp like that. But this is a good idea. Now let me say this is not being “packaged” good… but hey as the whole priest abuse sex scandal has shown us the Catholic Church isn’t good at PR and handling the media so much.

The Majority of priest sex abuse has been older priests and teenage boys. Now we have one other category that is working on the same wavelength and that is priests picking off troubled married women. The problem is priests picking on folks who are weak and using them for sex. The problem is no one cares about the married women who are having a priestly abuse of authority leading them into sin. Children are “Innocent” and wives are not… that’s the way it is. It’s not a gay or straight thing, it’s the fact people view children differently.

For years people inside the church have been agitating for a stricter standard on the priesthood.

Don’t fear for the “Lavender Mafia” (the term gay priests often use to refer to themselves) are going to be fine. They have entered into the halls of priesthood all over the US and Europe for decades now so they can’t get forced out.

Once again people with a political position contrary to the church see doom and a Queer Inquisition when the truth is we’ll probably see harsh psych exams to keep people out of the priesthood who will be sexually abusive with people who need them to be god’s go to guy.

Settle down people… nothing here to see.

Gaypatriot is right on the money again

Gay Patriot brings up an excellent point

There were few (if any) large-scale protests when, in August 1964, Congress passed the Tonkin Gulf Resolution effectively declaring war on the Communist government in North Vietnam. Yet, hundreds of thousands (maybe even millions) rallied in cities across the country in 2003 to oppose the impending U.S. (and coalition) war against Saddam’s regime. Even the organizers don’t claim more than 100,000 attended yesterday’s rally. And as I noted above, most observers believe that number to be inflated.

As the war in Vietnam escalated so too did the protests back home, that is, the rallies got bigger. But, as our troops continue to fight the terrorists in Iraq, the size of the rallies has not so increased. Those who follow what’s really going in Iraq know that our involvement there is nothing like that in Vietnam. Although we are experiencing a few setbacks, we are winning the war. And the inability of the anti-war movement to draw a large crowd for their rally yesterday shows that the situation back in the U.S. is nothing like it was in the Vietnam era.

And I might also add Sane people were protesting the war back then to. Now the lunatic kooks are out in force protesting.

Look at the election in '04... the polls went big for Kerry. When you corrected the sampling Biases designed to -MAKE- the polls look big for Kerry the numbers pretty much reflected what was actually going on.

The same polling companies are the ones who tell us that we are becoming more and more upset with the Iraq war.

I think we can still look at things like this and most certainly this as a reason as to why the protests aren't to vietnam levels... but that can't be it.

You can also go to the no collective sacrifice angle ( the war taxes, the draft, etc)

But I just don't think thats it either. because Wars aren't really popular when they are going on.

I think the size of the anti-war movement is smaller then advertised.. but How small I can't say.

the people who show up... well thats easy. they are small because they scare people

The Carnival of Self Vanity-post 1000-

Since I have in this here blog put forward 1000 posts I decided to set up a carnival dedicated just to my personal favorite posts. then I realized that would take a long time sooooooooooooo

Post 1000 is my best of 04 post.

here in week one I talked a little bit about my political pedigree and past. In week three i kind of talked about what pushes my political buttons to. also in week one i rapped about my religous belief's here.

In week two I griped about the bad hurricane warnings they had last year. This year's hurricane warnings have been less "Oh my god we're all going to die" and surprising when we actually had a hurricane cause damage which was worthy of that level of hype. Also in week two I said why I bought into the swiftboat vets and their story.

In week three I talked about the fabrication of a cancer victim story by John Kerry as part of a series of fabrications he used to justify his canidacy. and also in week three I talked about the thought crime like attitude held by many democrats. Saying that Max Cleland and John Kerry were being attacked as Unpatriotic when in fact they were attacked for being harmful to the US military. Also on the John Kerry front here I talk about how John Kerry convinced me to vote for George W Bush. Good job there John.

In week for I talk about what makes some one a hero because I saw a Jet Li movie of the same name. I also came up with a great idea for a movie which I think was my way to think less on the stupidity of Abu Ghraib. I also endorsed some canidates for high public office and told everyone how my primary voting would go -even in the primary I couldn't vote in -.

In week 5 I join the blogger dog pile on Dan Rather. I also had some musings during a hurricane. (d@mned dirty hippies were on my mind)

it takes all the way to week 9 when i come up with something good to carnival on my general election ballot I also claimed I was going to drop off on my Yahoogroups usage by August of 2005....errrr...ummm....... and I also did my first baby step in cross blogging

Round Week 10 or so I told bush why the American people Re-Elected him.....And about a year later... I can see he didn't get the memo. I also sent a letter to John Kerry about his failure to achieve victory ( he didn't get his memo either)I also put in a strong bad refrence refering to the religous right as the poopsmith ( anyone who doesn't know who that is please see me after class)

In week 11 I said something good about Yasser Arafat ( He's dead... good)and declared November 11th to be the first annual Dead Terrorist day. and I started my first Hildabeast agnostic post

In unlucky week 13 I was kind of down on Christianity as a matter of religion for reasons I am not really sure why. But I was pro-theism ( in a secular theistic sense) here in America

Down in week 14 I lay out the ten things I don't like about george Bush.

and closing out 04 I lay out some predictions

Thats my best of 04 and that takes me up to the first 15 weeks of my blogging life here on Inside Larry's head.

I'll try some time later to do another Carnival of self vanity post like this one before post 2000 where I want to catch up with some of my other ( self selected) greatest hits

Next post... post 1000

I'm going to run post 1000 as a carnival style post of some of the posts I've really liked that I have done.

Cindy Sheehan-More proof of the sanity of the Anti-War movement

More Koshead Fun

Cindy decided that she really needed to lash out at the coverage of human tragedy ....that she isn't making money off of....

i am watching cnn and it is 100 percent rita...even though it is a little wind and a little rain...it is bad, but there are other things going on in this country today...and in the world!!!!

by CindySheehan on Sat Sep 24th, 2005 at 06:29:15 PDT
[ Parent ]

but at least SOMEONE on KOS realized the woman needed dressing down

You can find the story now on CNN's website. I'm very sorry, it's slightly above the story about you - that's just so unfair too isn't it.

i also know that the media will cover anything else besides the war.

Well Joan Baez sang for you today, and you got your smiling-happy picture taken with Jesse Jackson today, and your story is still front page on CNN.com today. So it was a very good day. Yes it was a beautiful day for Cindy wasn't it?

Except for a little wind and a little rain earlier.

It is stuff like this that shows me why the republicans will do well in 06... because their political opposition is really stupid

And if you don't believe a strong core of the anti-war movement is nuts

Just look at these photos (though Michelle Malkin's photos go off message a bit)

Even the Kos Heads get it

International ANSWER held a protest with that unique multiply by a factor of 50 or 100 that happens when the media counts dc protestors these days and they almost get it (thanks to INSTAPUNDIT)

Watching clips of the Answer Anti-War Rally, all I see are things that I want nothing to do with. I am a staunch supporter of Israel, and its fundamental right to exist. I bet you that the majority of Americans who are against the war are too. Yet I watch this rally and see people basically supporting the Hamas, etc., and the suicide killings of innocent Israelis in cafes, on buses, etc.

this was by Koshead NewDem NewDem almost gets it... he see's the tribe of utter nuttery that is the core of the anti-war movement globally but it hasn't caused him to think.

another Koshead even spelled it all out.

Don't's:

Don't have a hippy drum circle:

There are few things more annoying and irrelevant than a bunch of dreadlocked Boulderites banging on drums while dancing around with erect nipples under their hemp shirts.

Don't have a gothic pagan chorus on the stage talking about mermaids:

This actually happened at the last November 3rd movement rally. It has nothing to do with the overall point of the protest. Rather it is just an opportunity for superficial hipsters to whine about "mother earth". They then leave to go get coffee and don't stay for the rally.

Don't talk about gay rights or other issues that have little to do with the Iraqi invasion:

Believe it our not, all of the protesters do not see eye to eye. Although Palestine and gay rights are very important issues (and yes, I do realize that there are parallels between imperialism with Palestine and Iraq) that does not mean we should have speakers that talk for 30 minutes on the subjects. It is sloppy and off message to the united coalition of organizations and individuals against the Iraq war to talk about different issues that they may not agree with. Stay with a poignant message and prosper.

Don't use the slogan "No Blood For Oil!":

Face it. The bromide is tired, used. Be creative.

Don't set up a fucking T-shirt stand selling Anti-Bush propaganda made in Hanes sweatshop factories:

Everytime I go to a rally I see some baby boomer liberal asshole shelling his shallow and petty white T-Shirt crap. Don't do it. To ad insult to injury, the shirts are usually from some sweatshop company like Hanes. When you try and talk to the vendor he gets all defensive and babbles something about an "honest" living. Yeah, right. For that matter, let's keep all aspects of consumerism out of the rally. Protests are about community empowerment and action, not buying stuff. Save it for conferences and book signings.

Don't march to the Halliburton building:

Guess what, most of the workers aren't there on Saturday. We've done it two times with little to show for it, enough is enough.

Don't talk for an hour and a half, leaving supporters standing:

Last time different speakers talked for a little over and hour and a half. The primary reason we showed up was not to hear people speak about things we are already aware of or don't care about. We wanted to march! By the time the speeches were over, a good chunk of the crowd had left, and no media was around.

Don't wear black bandanas or gas masks:

Want the police to target you? Wear a black bandana over your face. Wear a gas mask. I know, I know, it's the cool anarcho thing to do, but it's also very foolish. If you feel you might need them later (for whatever reasons...), put them in your bag where you'll have easy access to them.

If anyone watched CSPAN's coverage ( or watches it) I consider this a possible drinking game worthy list.

here I think is the best advice that was given

Do invite organizations with free food to attend:

There are few things better than being a haggard chain-smoking organizer, and having a free Food Not Bombs veggie burrito at the rally to fuel you up. Free food makes happy protesters.

Free food also attracts people with a love of free food.. its a hearts and minds thing.

The KOSHEADS are so close though... so close to the cusp of realizing a very key portion of the anti-war movement is anti-war because (drum roll please) they are anti-america, anti-buisness, anti-christian ( and some times anti-judaeo-christian), anti-Israel ( and if you get them in a good swing anti-jew)

If their were not so many of these nuts in the Anti-War movement I might argue that the pool numbers about them are legit.

A thought on setting goals

Setting goals:
The problem with setting goals is that you need to think of the goals less as a task. I blame the problem on the Greeks. It’s an idea we owe to the Hellenic thinkers have pushed into a large part of the world’s thinking.

(This segues into my problem about Buddhism)

People feel they have to balance “other” things against survival. They can’t be political, or spiritual, or economical all at once. The Hebrew idea of us all having multiple souls isn’t much better… though it does make in some key respects a better analogy. The purpose of life is not suffering; the purpose of life is living. You live life as a sinner, a saint, a priestess, a prophet, a labourer, a student, a lover, a wife, a child… you are all those things as one person. So trying to exclude one thing or another to allow you to be “real” or “basic” means you are less you.

How does this relate to goals? They key setting a goal isn’t making a checklist. Checklists are boring… I mean do you like to read check lists for fun? No of course you don’t. The key is an ending, or even the next chapter in a story. Not a paragraph, not a page, not a sentence. It’s the story. The key to setting good goals is to close your eyes and see the picture of the end. I like to focus on the end of my life sitting in a study looking at a book.

I’m looking at a diary with photos and newspaper clippings, and other manners of my past. The events dovetail one into the other, even in ways I didn’t understand in the story but in the final chapter it all fits together. Some times I rewrite the pages, past or remove things but the ending of the story doesn’t change and the body may be fuller or more in-depth but in the end it doesn’t really change. Outside the room are my family waiting for me to come out and spend my last night with them. It is a loving and warm and homey environment that I can reflect on the end of my days.

That’s how I keep my eyes on the prize… I use check lists to run a diagnostic, but they are never the goals.

Ok things are broken

Doctored up versions of South Park, the sopranos, sex in the city and other "edgy" things are slipping into the realm of the world of broadcast tv ( for those of you worried about the religous right) but Just north of the border wellllllll

Wal-mart is selling Sex Toys

The products include a "vibrating ring," which according to Elexa's website is a battery-operated ring designed to "enhance pleasure for both partners."

The line also includes "intimacy gel" and post-sex "freshening cloths."

ummmm Post-sex freshening clothes

who wears clothes after sex?

Screw the red cross

Once again the red cross tries to get out of doing the right thing hiding the role Palestinian Red Cresent units played in supplying weapons to terrorists. Calling the jews a dirty religion, comparing the swaztika and the star of david

well now to try to cover their arses they now have the red diamond.

this is not acceptable.

I agree with John Mccain

Shocking I know

McCain says Republicans remain as united as Democrats on their stance of tax cuts.

"I think if we were going to address the issue of taxes, it would be almost a cop out. What we need to do is cut spending and waste before we ask the American people to pay more taxes," he said.

government wastes tons of money.... and hasn't made an effort to fix it.

like much of what has happened in New Orleans in the past

we shouldn't pay more taxes and let the same other people's money mentality continue

World of Warcraft plauge

Kind of funny when i first heard of it

Shouldn't be on the BBC website

that is just sad

The 9th circus does it again

When the 9th circus isn't screwing up the pledge for people... it is doing garbage like this (hat tip Anklebitingpundits)

Three women working for a labor union, the National Education Association, sued for gender discrimination claiming that the NEA created a sex-based hostile work environment for them through the conduct of an interim assistant executive director who frequently “screamed” at female employees in a loud and profane manner, with little or no provocation, shook his fists at them, stood behind an employee as she worked, and lunged across the table at another. The conduct was not sexual, nor was it marked by sexual language, gender-specific words, sexual stereotypes, or sexual overtures. While there was evidence that the same director raised his voice with men on occasion, and once frightened a male subordinate, male employees seemed to deal with that abuse with banter, and did not express the same fear of the director, did not cry, become panicked or feel physically threatened, avoid contact with the director, call the police, or ultimately resign, as did one woman.

Now was this harrassment... SURE~! Is this sexual harrasment -NO-. Is this creating a hostile work enviroment... probably.

Because women found the behavior subjectively more intimidating than men did, and reasonable women would do so, the conduct treats women differently. That it may not have been the director’s intent to treat women differently does not matter.

yes folks.... sexual harrasment laws don't need to be sexual, don't need to be directed against member of a protected class, and they don't even need you to intend to do it.

Random Thoughts from Sleep Dep:

I some times wonder, are we all part of a tapestry created by the Grand Architect of the Universe or if the maker of us all puts us all in an individual chess game and watches us move and then move pieces on the board he plays on.

My financial transitioning starts to clear up just when I am in dire straights, not when I could have stayed ahead but when I –NEED- the help. But as things are going I’ve made the change in my life and in that moment on the dark footbridge the one court of appeal I have seems not to have deserted me.

I’m being tested in other ways, And the human flaws in me about those tests is setting me up a very interesting new understanding of things. I just don’t know what the new knowledge I have means….I just do know that I now know some things which make a picture I thought I saw now have a fine digital resolution.

As the chess pieces have moved into place... I can't even curse my maker for using me as he has, or my attempts at using him. I'm more caught in wonder

I guess I just have to see if my pocket bullets are good enough or if I have to go runner runner on this hand.

Remember we can't question their patriotism ( more things from the email box)

Leaders of “Anti-War” Rally
Support Terrorist War Against America

WASHINGTON -- Accuracy in Media (AIM) editor Cliff Kincaid said today that one of the leaders of the group organizing Saturday’s “anti-war” rally in Washington has posted an article urging “solidarity” with the “Iraqi fighters” and “resistance” to killing American troops and innocent civilians in Iraq. This shows, Kincaid said, that the “anti-war” protest has been unmasked by one of its own leaders as a pro-war organization that seeks to kill those struggling for freedom and democracy in Iraq and around the world.

The article, “Iraqi resistance earns world’s respect,” is posted on the web site of the Workers World Party (WWP) and is written by John Catalinotto, a WWP veteran who also represents International ANSWER, the WWP front that is organizing and sponsoring the Saturday protest.

The Workers World Party is an openly communist organization sympathetic to regimes such as those in Cuba and North Korea.

The Catalinotto article states that it is appropriate “that the U.S. anti-war movement, especially the serious opponents of imperialism, think of the Iraqi resistance as an important ally…The duty of the movement here is to join the struggle to make the continued U.S. occupation of Iraq impossible and to do this in solidarity with the Iraqi sisters and brothers who have stopped the empire in its tracks.”

Kincaid said he was tipped off about the article by Herbert Romerstein, a former government investigator into communist strategy and tactics who produced a 1974 congressional study, “The Workers World Party and its Front Organizations,” examining how the organization manipulated innocent people into supporting communist regimes and Arab terrorism.

Romerstein told Kincaid that the Catalinotto article reveals the real intentions of the protest organizers. “They’ve finally come out in the open,” he said. “They’ve pretended to be for peace. But they’re really a solidarity group for Al Qaeda and the terrorists in Iraq. The Marxist-Leninists and the Islamic fundamentalists are now allied against the United States.”

Religious Lawmaker Wants To Ban Sports On Sundays
WSBTV ^ | 9-23-2005

WHITE HOUSE, Tenn. -- Play ball! As long as it's not Sunday morning.

Alderman Darrel Leftwich is proposing that the city establish new Sunday hours for White House Municipal Park so sporting events could only be held in the afternoon.

"I am concerned that we are not sending the right message to the community by having tournaments and league play during worship hours," Leftwich said.

Leftwich said that he drove by the park Sunday morning on his way to services at Temple Baptist Church and saw that it was full of people at a soccer tournament.

"God our Father intended the seventh day to be one of rest and worship," Leftwich said during this week's city board meeting. He asked the city manager to draft an ordinance that would restrict Sunday hours at parks in the town, about 20 miles north of Nashville.

Alderman Farris Bibb Jr. said the city should go slow before enacting a change. "With all due respect to Alderman Leftwich, the seventh day of the week is Saturday," Bibb said.

Gathas: Song 14.1

Translated Text:

Now, Wise One, Bendva always obstructs me the most,

I, who wish to satisfy the badly protected through righteousness.

Come to me with good reward and support.

I am seeking illumination for him through good mind.

(Gathas: Song 14.1)

Summary Substance: After declaring his plan, Zarathushtra turns to an arch enemy, Bendva (Vedic Bandhu, a composer of the Rig Veda). He is the main obstruction in Zarathushtra's way. Zarathushtra wants to attend, in a rightful way, to the people who face the dangers of opposition. They have to be saved. He is praying for divine guidance and seeking solution through good mind.

Jimmy Carter.... kooking out

Proof the democratic party knows how to win elections.

Former U.S. president Jimmy Carter delivered a shocker at an American University panel in Washington Monday: RAW STORY has learned he told the crowd he was certain Al Gore won the 2000 presidential election.

There is "no doubt in my mind that Gore won the election," the erstwhile President declared, saying the 2000 election process "failed abysmally."

He also snubbed the Supreme Court for getting involved, saying it was "highly partisan."

add this to Al Gore running in 08... and this will be really super.

Only down side I don't know How Jimmy Carter has no doubt in his mind when he said at least 3 elections were fair that every other election agency in the world said were corrupt

He also praised Sharon... and didn't make good comments about Hamas.

It is sad when Howard Dean is the smart one

Ya know what......

I am in favor of a "two state solution" because any one state solution would destroy Israel.

But the psychosis of the people like Hamas is nauseating. And we now see why Israel destroyed many synagouges in the areas they left

WASHINGTON - Emboldened by Israel's withdrawal from Gaza and part of the West Bank, Hamas yesterday announced its plan to turn a synagogue in Netzarim into a museum that would display weapons employed by the terrorist group's members against Israeli civilians.A statement issued yesterday by Hamas said, "Qassam rockets and other locally made arms will be exposed, since it is the legal weapon that evicted the occupation forces."

And does anyone think Hamas will ever disarm with talk like that?

Deborah Orin: Al Gore May Challenge Hillary Clinton in '08

Al Gore is poised to make a comeback and could pose a serious challenge to Hillary Clinton in the 2008 Democratic presidential race.

That’s the surprising news from "Inside Washington” columnist Deborah Orin of the New York Post, who writes that the former vice president "is suddenly re-emerging as a vocal and visible Bush-basher.”

A Democratic insider told Orin that Gore – who is slated to star at a Democratic National Committee fund-raiser next week – is "keeping a very strong public profile.

"He was the first major Democrat to oppose the Iraq war. He’s keeping in touch around the country and doing a lot of speeches. You don’t do all that if your goal is to play celebrity golf.” Why should Hillary worry?

Iraq is the hot-button issue for the staunchly left-wing Democrats who have a major impact on the presidential primaries, and while Gore was loudly anti-war from the start, Clinton voted for the war.

Orin writes: "It’s one thing for Clinton to contemplate a 2008 anti-war foe like little-known Sen. Russ Feingold (Wis.). It’s quite another to face the MoveOn darling who won the popular vote against George W. Bush.”

A top Democratic strategist told Orin: "Americans love comebacks. "He could come back as the new Nixon – somebody who went into the wilderness and found himself.”

A good friend of mine and I had a discussion about where the heart and soul of the Democratic party really is. I think this, along with Clinton embracing raging kook sheehan makes it pretty clear

Once again.. be quiet hippies

Many MANY dirty hippies and allied Nanny scientists have blamed global warming for the hurricanes. But here is some more realistic science to put things in to perspective.

"The Sun is in a changed state. It is brighter than it was a few hundred years ago and this brightening started relatively recently - in the last 100 to 150 years."

Dr Solanki said that the brighter Sun and higher levels of "greenhouse gases", such as carbon dioxide, both contributed to the change in the Earth's temperature but it was impossible to say which had the greater impact.

Now.... We have warming on mars which we can't blame on SUVs... hmmm I wonder.... which has the greater impact

hmmm

Now we can of course drag out how the hockey stick model doesn't work... and other flaws with global warming science. But here is another big slap in the face to the theory that evil white male christian buisnessmen are destroying the planet

Editors Note: The Scientists mentioned in the article don't draw the conclusion I did. I drew this conclusion based on the fact the warming on mars is producing serious impact on martian ice caps.... and then I used logic. Scientists who want to control your life because they know better then you do not use logic when it conflicts with their desire to administer your life

Just when I thought these people were utter tools

-They surprise me-

bare in mind this *IS* a newsmax article so it may be a tad truth-enhanced.

Cindy Sheehan is scum. The woman is using her sons death to advance her extremist politics. Advocating people not pay taxes, saying America is worse then NAZI germany..the woman is a tin hat level flake.

• "We have this lying bastard, George Bush, taking a 5-week vacation in a time of war."

• "When I was growing up, it was Communists. Now it's Terrorists. So you always have to have somebody to fight and be afraid of, so the war machine can build more bombs, guns, and bullets and everything."

• "You get America out of Iraq and Israel out of Palestine and you'll stop the terrorism."

• "Thank God for the Internet, or we wouldn't know anything, and we would already be a fascist state."

• "George Bush needs to stop talking, admit the mistakes of his all around failed administration, pull our troops out of occupied New Orleans."

Air America: this is just sad

From the Radioequalizer

This isn't about politics, this is about sense.

Rush and people who are radio people in talk radio called for Air America to bringing it on because they were going to lose badly must be snickering.

Air America's ownership group which had to know that one of their members stole from a boys and girls club is now begging people to help keep them afloat.

what did Air America send you for my personal favorite nation in the world (donation)
For $50, they'll send three "official" bumper stickers, while $100 gets a "stylish" tote bag thrown in. The sucker who has everything might choose the $250 version, including the above and an on-air thanks from one of Air America's talk hosts.

or as some one on radio-info points out
Talk about cheap! Public radio has better offers than that. This sounds like a desperation move. How hard up for cash flow could they be? They are running spots but a lot of them sound like bottom-feeder PI (per inquiry) spots (no cash, they get a commission if anybody orders).

The least they could do is offer stock, then if the thing ever does take off people could see some return. Keep in mind folks, donations to a for-profit business are NOT deductible.

but in the end folks... if any of you out there are Air America fans I want you to think about this real hard. Lets assume Air America finally gets its head out of its behind. Air America's share holders sell the company and make a profit.

thats right people If your donations save Air America, you are making them rich

and when air america's board is supported by multi-millionares and multibillionares that makes me kind of ill

Gas Price Rant

Ok Children lets review M'kay?

The gas in the tanks right now, and over the weekend when we will be soaked with another gas spike wasn't brought to your gas station the day before.

Ergo from a strict supply/demand scenario front loading all the cost of any supply loss ( which may not even happen) in the begining... and keeping it when their may be a supply surge is.....

Price gouging thank you very much

Still more Deep thoughts

For those of you who know me, and those of you who don't, I've had something big going on in my life of late that has made me feel a tad awkward. My ex who... Lets just say during the period between our talking I've not always been as charitable towards as I would like to be in my heart...has started talking with me again on a regular basis.

She's had some bad stuff going on in her life, like really really bad stuff ( those of you who know me... you know of what I speak. Those of you who don't.... well I'm not telling). And things between us have gotten a whole lot closer. We've talked, we've listened.... and a whole lot of stuff has happened that really reminded me of the good in our past.

I've had some thoughts of "what if" and some serious whimsy in my heart... and I've had to temper it with some stone cold reason.

Well last night she reminded me of just how upset she could get me. What she did.... If some one else did it I would have been far more tolerant. But because of our past and because of how she used to do this sort of thing before it felt like a big slap in the face.

and as Charlie Murphy taught us in the "Hollywood story" segment of the chapelle show you don't slap a man in the face.

I probably should have kept my cool about it, but their was something that rung my head back to clarity.

I'm not anything -but- a friend right now to her. The stuff I let pass when we were a whole lot closer.... I really don't have to let pass. And If I do I am going to get walked over again. Its not to say she has designs of making me a floor mat, but what it is saying is that I'm wanting to lay out the road map of respect between us again.

I love and care for her as a friend, and if what was wrong between us before has really changed maybe more then that... But In our relationship in the past I let her do and say things that hurt me because I was in love with her. If we are really going to be friends *I* have to affirm my own value as a person.... thats something I didn't do before.

I wait the results of her setting me off.... frankly it aint real good, and I wouldn't be surprised if she stops talking to me all togther for a while.

I do love you bright lady, But I'm not going to tolerate what happened before. I'm going to say something now when it is a small thing before it becomes a huge thing.

I am sorry I had to put my foot down in the middle of what is going on in your life. But you and I have been togther when our lives were respectively deep in a septic tank.... so their are some things that have to be kept in check.

You say your starting to trust me, you say your starting to respect me.... Well the proof is in the pudding.... and lets just hope i got a nasty lump of pudding mix

Dear Ken; ( yeah I know what I said)

I'll update both your blog link and put up a post about your secret squirrel project a little later today

Deep thoughts.

You ever have a goal in your head, a direction and motivation for your life and watch it slip away from you. Thats something that has happened to me over the last few days. Part of it is motivated by my bombing a quiz in arabic because i was in a pannic about it, but it owes a whole lot more to the situation with Able danger.

I don't think I could ever get into something so technical with minutae like that but what I have rapidly been seeing is that even if i get the job of my dreams and I am there on the inside fighting the good fight.... Politics is more important then people's lives. Not only was able danger being ignored, but now a full court assault has been going on with all the people who had the courage to come forward. I am not sure I can do what I want to be when I grow up any more.

I could fight the good fight, I could try to get the powers that be to do things differently and nothing could happen.... nothing could happen. I am not sure I could live with knowing that kind of stuff. Knowing that I saw the bullet coming and my government let people die. I'd rather be a lawyer then be in that position. While being a lawyer would eat me up emotionally inside... I at least know some one might be responsible. No one seems to be responsible for their critical failures.

So..... I am in deep thinking mode

Kayne SHUT UP

Some people just don't learn
And he isn't finished yet - appearing on ELLEN DeGENERES' US television chat show this morning (09SEP05), West insisted Bush and other politicians knew America's Gulf Coast couldn't withstand a hurricane a year before Katrina hit.

"A year ago I was on tour with USHER and we had a hurricane hit Florida and everybody was saying, 'If this hurricane went to Louisiana, if it went to Mississippi, they wouldn't be able to handle it.' (That was) a year ago - and there was nothing done about it."

So USHER is the government now?

And while Mississippi is a horrid mess right now, and the effected areas of Alabama they aren't as bad as New Orleans

that had everything to do with the unique nature of New Orleans which was a probable outcome.

Now ... Had this been all the stuff mentioned int he article I could have let this slide

however...

He said, "Back in the days when it was time to clean the kitchen I would try to sweep the dust under the kitchen sink instead of really taking care of it, and if you spilled something on that floor all that dust came right up in front of your face. That's basically what the flood did.

"They have been trying to sweep us (African-Americans) under the kitchen sink and it was so in people's faces and so on TV... that they couldn't even hide it any more.

"Down there, people are living below the poverty level to start off with, before this happened.

Newsflash: People in New Orleans have been bellow the poverty level for decades now.

the fact you try to bring this up as race when not only has the "black" party dominated the city so have black -people-

go back to cleaning the kitchen Kanye maybe the dust will come out of your ears

Dean: Race Played a Role in Katrina Deaths
Sep 07 7:44 PM US/Eastern

By DENISE KALETTE
Associated Press Writer

MIAMI

Race was a factor in the death toll from Hurricane Katrina, Howard Dean told members of the National Baptist Convention of America on Wednesday at the group's annual meeting.

Dean, chairman of the Democratic party, made the comments to the Baptists' Political and Social Justice Commission. The Baptist Convention, with an estimated 3.5 million members, is one of the largest black religious groups in the country.

"We must ... come to terms with the ugly truth that skin color, age and economics played a deadly role in who survived and who did not," Dean said.

I could spend time challenging what Dean said but he is just so foolish I no longer consider it worth it. Though in Dean's defense his statement isn't -As- Idiotic as Al Press makes it out to be

A Rabbi puts it all in perspective

In New Orleans, beginning Tuesday morning, August 30, I saw men in
helicopters risking their lives to save stranded flood victims from
rooftops. The rescuers were White, the stranded Black. I saw
Caucasians navigating their small, private boats in violent, swirling,
toxic floodwaters to find fellow citizens trapped in their houses.
Those they saved were Black.

I saw Brotherhood. New York Congressman Charlie Rangel saw Racism.

Yes, there are Two Americas. One is the real America, where virtually
every White person I know sends money, food or clothes to those in
need -- now and in other crises -- regardless of color. This America
is colorblind.

The other is the America fantasized and manufactured by Charlie
Rangel, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, who constantly cry “racism!”
even in situations where it does not exist, even when undeniable
images illustrate love, compassion and concern. These three men,
together with today’s NAACP, want to continue the notion of Racist
America. It is their Mantra, their calling card. Their power, money,
and continued media appearances depend on it.

You don't fit into any of the above categories, so perhaps before you get angry or confused, check what other religion(s) you scored the highest on. For example, you might be a Christian-Pagan, or a Discordian-Wiccan. Just use a bit of logic. However, according to this test, you're simply 100% YOU. You don't fit into any of the world's boxes.

Jackson Blasts Bush Over Katrina Aid
Sep 02 3:48 PM US/Eastern

By DOUG SIMPSON
Associated Press Writer

BATON ROUGE, La.

Racism is partly to blame for the deadly aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said, calling President Bush's response to the disaster "incompetent."

but this article does have some moments of journalistic quality that are well... unusual for al-press

Jackson questioned why Bush has not named blacks to top positions in the federal response to the disaster, particularly when the majority of victims remaining stranded in New Orleans are black: "How can blacks be locked out of the leadership, and trapped in the suffering?"

and it contrasts jessie jackson being a lunatic with this

U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Russell Honore, head of the military task force overseeing operations in the three states, is black. His task force is providing search and rescue, medical help and sending supplies to the three states in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

so... anyone? yes Jesse Jackson proved himself to be an idiot politicizing the event

I am not giving any offical sanction to this site but it claims to be a LJ out of New Orleans

This journal has become the Survival of New Orleans blog. In less perilous times it was simply a blog for me to talk smack and chat with friends. Now this journal exists to share firsthand experience of the disaster and its aftermath with anyone interested.

so folks I'd take this one seriously.

one of the more disturbing things I have seen on his site

Three days ago, police and national guard troops told citizens to head toward the Crescent City Connection Bridge to await transportation out of the area. The citizens trekked over to the Convention Center and waited for the buses which they were told would take them to Houston or Alabama or somewhere else, out of this area.

It's been 3 days, and the buses have yet to appear.

Although obviously he has no exact count, he estimates more than 10,000 people are packed into and around and outside the convention center still waiting for the buses. They had no food, no water, and no medicine for the last three days, until today, when the National Guard drove over the bridge above them, and tossed out supplies over the side crashing down to the ground below. Much of the supplies were destroyed from the drop. Many people tried to catch the supplies to protect them before they hit the ground. Some offered to walk all the way around up the bridge and bring the supplies down, but any attempt to approach the police or national guard resulted in weapons being aimed at them.

this whole operation down there is really screwed up

Another Democratic party spokesman speaks ( it came from the email box)

Michael Moore

Ideological head of the democratic party... on Bush and the Hurricane

really... the stupidity of Michael Moore and the people who agree with him is really obvious right here.

I think any adults reading this post who may think "well michael moore is ok" should look at this and realize he needs to no longer be considered worthy of adult conversation in this nation and should be ignored.

Dear Mr. Bush:

Any idea where all our helicopters are? It's Day 5 of Hurricane Katrina and thousands remain stranded in New Orleans and need to be airlifted. Where on earth could you have misplaced all our military choppers? Do you need help finding them? I once lost my car in a Sears parking lot. Man, was that a drag.

Also, any idea where all our national guard soldiers are? We could really use them right now for the type of thing they signed up to do like helping with national disasters. How come they weren't there to begin with?

Last Thursday I was in south Florida and sat outside while the eye of Hurricane Katrina passed over my head. It was only a Category 1 then but it was pretty nasty. Eleven people died and, as of today, there were still homes without power. That night the weatherman said this storm was on its way to New Orleans. That was Thursday! Did anybody tell you? I know you didn't want to interrupt your vacation and I know how you don't like to get bad news. Plus, you had fundraisers to go to and mothers of dead soldiers to ignore and smear. You sure showed her!

I especially like how, the day after the hurricane, instead of flying to Louisiana, you flew to San Diego to party with your business peeps. Don't let people criticize you for this -- after all, the hurricane was over and what the heck could you do, put your finger in the dike?

And don't listen to those who, in the coming days, will reveal how you specifically reduced the Army Corps of Engineers' budget for New Orleans this summer for the third year in a row. You just tell them that even if you hadn't cut the money to fix those levees, there weren't going to be any Army engineers to fix them anyway because you had a much more important construction job for them -- BUILDING DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ!

On Day 3, when you finally left your vacation home, I have to say I was moved by how you had your Air Force One pilot descend from the clouds as you flew over New Orleans so you could catch a quick look of the disaster. Hey, I know you couldn't stop and grab a bullhorn and stand on some rubble and act like a commander in chief. Been there done that.

There will be those who will try to politicize this tragedy and try to use it against you. Just have your people keep pointing that out. Respond to nothing. Even those pesky scientists who predicted this would happen because the water in the Gulf of Mexico is getting hotter and hotter making a storm like this inevitable. Ignore them and all their global warming Chicken Littles. There is nothing unusual about a hurricane that was so wide it would be like having one F-4 tornado that stretched from New York to Cleveland.

No, Mr. Bush, you just stay the course. It's not your fault that 30 percent of New Orleans lives in poverty or that tens of thousands had no transportation to get out of town. C'mon, they're black! I mean, it's not like this happened to Kennebunkport. Can you imagine leaving white people on their roofs for five days? Don't make me laugh! Race has nothing -- NOTHING -- to do with this!

You hang in there, Mr. Bush. Just try to find a few of our Army helicopters and send them there. Pretend the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast are near Tikrit.

Yours,

Michael Moore

P.S. That annoying mother, Cindy Sheehan, is no longer at your ranch. She and dozens of other relatives of the Iraqi War dead are now driving across the country, stopping in many cities along the way. Maybe you can catch up with them before they get to DC on September 21st.

The Round up (Aka free dane cook show)

Ok Student government or some other batch of student do gooders had organized this wee festivities soooo well.

round up 2005

The first major problem: Hey, lets make people stand outside for an hour + in September late afternoon weather. Yes apperently to the planning geniuses at USF not only did this seem like a good idea, but having us stand outside with no water ( but we all got free bbq chicken sandwiches) was an intelligent idea. I probably should have had my danger senses go off but sadly I did not.

various people came out with free stuff... free grad school scholarship oppertunities, a free x-box... etc. the free stuff was good but they forgot that we needed free water and free a/c cause it was muggy and felt like it was 200 degrees.

the second major problem: when they let us in

The purpose of the round up was to expose us to the student organizations. No one out there really seemed to be all to motivated to say "hey join our organization" but i was motivated by my love of free stuff and a sweat influenced delerium. so i collected my free stuff and fumbled with it in my hands until i was about to enter the sun dome proper when... they finally had BAGS. yes they expected us to just carry tons of free stuff in our hands... a highly intelligent matter of facts.

then... the third problem.

I like rap music fine, I do not listen to an hour plus of rap music ( by choice) and I am willing to bet that I was probably not the only person in the 7000+ crowd that was filling up the sundome for this festival. But I did want to get in early and get good seats so I went with it. the down side of the "free food and drink" which they had inside was the free food was a salty hot dog ( standing outside in the hot sun + salty meat...mmmm good times. and this place of free stuff was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay on the other side of the stadium. their were not multiple locations as we were all herded in one entrance.

the fourth problem;

Student and staff presenters were just horrid. only thing that salvaged it was the fact the USF cheerleaders are exceptionally attractive.

dane cook had a m'eh opener but then he came on stage to a hyped up crowd. The crowd well before the opening comic came out was chanting "we want dane cook" so I think he was going to kill no matter what.

His material is mostly knew from the last batch of his comedy cd's I've heard ( except i take it by some of the shirts I saw fans wearing his closing material) he had a lot of fun with the "for the hearing impared" translator there.

Pet Peeve of the night: The MC of the night ( some one who has a show on XM that I'd never care to listen to) Used the word "hetero-normative" now...sure I'd have not bet money that their were no gay people there but when you use a line "guys you need to learn to be romantic" that does not need to be a non "heteronormative" statement. Yes the context was about a man and a woman but it works in non man/woman situations.

Drinking game moment of the night: Every time some one said the word "multi-cultural" I am willing to bet you could easily get 4 or 5 shots out of it and I was barely paying attention to what they were saying..... cause well extremely attractive cheerleaders.

Is this trip REALLY nessecary?

The old line from the WWII-Depression era and many classic bugs bunny cartoons has become my watchword for the weekend. I will call my mother later ( say sundayish) to determine if i have to scuttle my planned labor day trip or not.

Well (no surprise) the teacher with the book on how the iraq reconstruction was a failure has a political angle to grind in his class on international conflict.

He also is a russia expert by training ( so i guess he would probably have been a sovietist) so that makes some of where he is coming from more obvious.

the choice plum comment he made was IIRC "We don't even know if the conflict of the Civil War (American) is resolved yet."

yeah.... I think though depending on the read i get from him in the second class i might want to play down my feelings and opinions some

Well, George and I are leaving Crawford today. George is finished playing golf and telling his fables in San Diego , so he will be heading to Louisiana to see the devastation that his environmental policies and his killing policies have caused. Recovery would be easier and much quicker if almost ½ of the three states involved National Guard were not in Iraq. All of the National Guard’s equipment is in Iraq also. Plus, with the 2 billion dollars a week that the private contractors are siphoning from our treasury, how are we going to pay for helping our own citizens in Louisiana , Mississippi, and Alabama? And, should I dare say “global warming?” and be branded as a “conspiracy theorist” on top of everything else the reich-wingers say about me.

This right here shows why this woman should have never been taken seriously

Hey other Raging RINOS

I am thinking.... maybe we need to come up with a team blog charity ( other then the American Red Cross)

I guess i'll forward this around in a more effective way later

Dear Enviromental Whackaloons

wanna here something funny

The majority of the people trapped in the flooded areas of New Orleans, and probably the majority of the ones who died to -DIDN'T OWN A CAR-

yes yes the life style you guys advocate so much... well take a look at it. when wild fits of nature happen it leads to people dying. Because they couldn't afford a car due to people like you, trying to socially engineer us through abusive regulations and lawsuits.

so go on and hug a tree you hippies

-new student party thingie-

They have a big open house styled get togther for new students today

depending on how my second class goes today, I am probably going to be there.

Dane Cook is performing so.... I'll probably review it or some such like that.

Put down my first honest to jimminie rent check

And thank god I had the cash to make rent. I have thanks to my last SMH pay check eough cash to make rent, feed the credit card demons... and probably make my payment to Lincoln Financial over my loan from them.

I will wait on the lincoln one and some of the others a tad till i get the student loan left over money....

Next time (it came from the email box)

A radical leftist talks about America being a fascist country, or about "social justice" or institutional rascism... I want you to think about the email i got which i will be posting here.

This comes from an Email list i am on which focuses on Iraqi issues. It has had allot of pro-saddam propeganda on it which was why (WAAAAAYYYY beack before the gulf war II) I joined the list.

Now we have seen the utter fits of deranged lunatics trying to find any reason in the world to make their hate for america seem justifiable

so when you hear a liberal-leftist say "don't question our patriotism" tell them that they say stuff which leads to garbage like this

Survivors of Katerina

Subject: the survivors of Katerina , of George and of Saddam

Iraq: A War For Israel
The mothers in Iraq who have had Baby-Girls, yesterday,
ought to name them ......... "Katerina"
It is not much of a revenge........ but the similarity between the Gulf of Mexico and Iraq is that the victims are the innocent ones, anyhow......

Nevertheless ,
and if God -Almighty is on our side , I would assume that God was punishing our intruders , our invaders , our robbers............

But unfortunately the floods did not come up to Crawford-Texas ,
probably and because of those brave demonstrators camping there, outside that Notorious-Ranch, where Dracula lives !

One more thing , ( if you are still with me .......)
How come we see on our TV-Screens the survivors of Katerina , almost all of them.......being Black-people ??? ( or at least, poor)
How come ?? did all the white-US-citizens drawn down ??
or were those White-citizens evacuated much in advance ???
and then the Blacks were left behind ?? because they ,probably, can swim better ??
How come I see the (fascist) policemen defending the Supermarkets from looting and not defending the population from the flood ???....should the people rather starve instead of the floods invading the same Supermarkets ??

Consequently , I conclude that, this Greatest-Democracy-on-Earth must have "some " social-injustice or social-discrimination , after all.....it is a Nation built by slaves on stolen lands....!!

I was told by George Bush ,himself, that only President Saddam Hussein were applying social-discrimination among his own people !! ??
I guess that George must have been misinformed on that topic..... as usual !

Anyhow the mother in Iraq ought to call their daughters "Katerina" , today......................
and the White-mothers of Mississippi and Louisiana (who were evacuated) must call their new-born-sons " George"

this email is circulated by the most vile poster named Meso who claims a vast zionist criminal conspiracy is to blame for the poor state of the arab world

he forwarded this so... I am guessing it is from a friend of his

Dear people: Don't be stupid

A whole lot of stupidity is going on right now so lets listen up and try to not be stupid togther Ok?

$.45 Variation over ten miles of road. No I'm sorry thats wrong. You see the marked can't justify a 3.14 and a 2.69... No sorry that is wrong.

a $.15 variation from the same supplier is borderline criminal.

Ok.. Citgo gas Station and 7-11 gas station both are supplied by the same fuel supplier. When looking at two stations in comprable traffic areas their isn't a reason ( since they have the -same- supply) for their to be that $.15 cent variation.

Some gas stations are taking advantage of people's fear and vuneribility

and those people do indeed suck.

But you know who sucks more?

The people who yesterday evening lead to lines around the block for some gas stations ( who now have the cheap stuff bumpin around the three dollar mark) in a tizy over the gas prices.

Their *MIGHT* have been a supply short fall... but now the EPA has made all the regional fuel grades go away. Now every refiner can produce the same gas and ship it anywhere.

their isn't going to be a substantial supply shortfall people so CALM DOWN.

here is a tip.... instead of getting fuel at a quarter of a tank (3/4rs down) try fueling up at a half a tank, or at 3/4rs of a tank... this way you know you won't be stuck without the ability to get gas

unless you become clueless and fill up a tank at near empty and pump in 2 or 3 side tanks to

settle down people... no one is going to be having a mad max styled apocolypse yet.

Newsmedia Settle down more -because you keep promoting "gas at 4 dollars a gallon"- which causes people to become scared pannicy animals

everyone calm down and just relax

The Cindy Sheehan show seems to be canceled

And what did it take for the news media to actually pay attention to stuff that mattered?

thousands dead

death and biblical destruction in a major US city.

God i hate the news media

Day 4 class b coming up

this is the one that has the book on how the US -failed- (past tense) to bring democracy to Iraq (in relation to the removal of sadam... occupation and all that) as a text book.... so I may have a second indoctrination class.

mmmmmm brainwashing
