(ad to this the "butterfly ballots" problem, the tossed out military votes, widespread turning of third party votes into bush or gore votes, the alleged black disenfranchisement... and we really don't know who won. top that off with the fact that the margin of error in vote counting was larger then the margin of difference and you have a "perfect storm" breakdown in the Florida election.)

Ya know normally i don't like federalizing legitimate state roles, but in this case i think a national voter registry and national voter standards are the way to go.
