"Are these the values of the Republican Party and its conservative allies?" Dean asked. "If not, President Bush, Ken Mehlman and the Republican Leadership should denounce them immediately as hateful, divisive and worthy only of scorn."

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean dodged a question yesterday about whether Rep. Charlie Rangel should apologize for saying that President Bush is the 21st century version of notorious 1960's segregationist Bull Connor.
Asked about Republican Party chief Ken Mehlman's demands that Rangel apologize, Dean told the New York Sun, "I think the chairman of the RNC ought to be embarrassed for what his party has done to America the last five years."
"It ought to be Mehlman that's apologizing to the people of New York City." Dr. Dean insisted, ignoring Rangel's comments altogether.

“We must ... come to terms with the ugly truth that skin color, age and economics played a deadly role in who survived and who did not,” Dean said.
When did Howard Dean gain the right to comment on ANYONE's ability to talk about issues of race?
Howard Dean is a demagouge
