In a 20-year career, Kerry voted with gun owners only four times, and each of those votes comes with qualifications. He voted:
against a bill NRA opposed for final passage only after Kerry helped sabotage the bill by adding anti-gun amendments (S. 1805)
for a non-biding sense of the Senate motion that had no actual impact (S. 2521 in 2000)
for a study of “armor piecing” ammunition—a vote he made moot a few minutes later by voting for a broad ban of center-fire rifle ammunition (Votes 27 and 28 in 2004 on S. 1805)
to allow airline pilots to carry firearms (vote 210 in 2002 on HR 5005).
This is from the Sportsmen for Kerry group
Kerry voted in 2004 to ban most center-fire rifle ammunition, including the most common rounds used by target shooters and hunters. Kerry voted in support of Ted Kennedy’s amendment to S. 1805 that would have banned rifle ammunition capable of penetrating soft body armor. Congress has repeatedly rejected such a “performance-based” approach.
Kerry voted in 1985 to allow BATF to conduct unlimited warrant-less inspections of FFL holders. Well-documented and shocking BATF abuses of license holders were a primary reason the Firearms Owners’ Protection Act was introduced in Congress and signed into law by President Reagan. Kerry was one of only 18 Senators to vote to allow such abuses—which liberal Democrat Congressman John Dingell called the acts of “jack-booted fascists”—to continue.
In 1993 Kerry was one of 30 Senators who supported an amendment to H.R. 2403 that would have increased the fee for a FFL by more than 37 times. The result of this amendment would have been to force many small or part-time firearms dealers out of business. This would have had a significant impact on both the availability and price of firearms particularly in rural areas of the nation.
Kerry voted in 1999 against an amendment to the Juvenile Justice bill that called for increased mandatory minimum and maximum penalties for the illegal transfer or use of a firearm. Instead of supporting this legislation that focused its impact on criminals, Kerry supported broad regulation of law-abiding gun buyers.
In contrast, the year before Kerry voted to impose excessive penalties of a year in prison and a $10,000 fine on an adult if a juvenile gains access to their firearm, even by theft, and then merely displays it in a public place.
and of course, from an unlikely source i find a real good refutation of the Anti-Second amendment position
"Foolish liberals who are trying to read the Second Amendment out of the Constitution by claiming that it's not an individual right or that it's too much of a safety hazard," said Dershowitz, "don't see the danger of the big picture." He added, "They're courting disaster by encouraging others to use the same means to eliminate portions of the Constitution they don't like."

Kerry: Rewriting history
Its not Just enough for Kerry's offical campaign historian to make up his bio,
It isn't just enough for him to "find" in the Kerry archives excuses to cover for lapses in the story,
It isn't enough for John Kerry to use him as a scape goat as to why he won't turn over records ( a charge Brinkley says is false),
He now seems to have used evidence in hand of Kerry conflicting with the "offical" record of events from one of his medal controversys.... and used parts of it for other aspects of the book.
the story Kerry tells now is different then the eulogy, and slightly different then the offical history
yet anyone who disagrees with his view of history ( right now) is a Liar; part of the fear and smear campaign
this again points out a pattern of behavior in John Kerry, something you can see back 30+ years ago but continuing today.
He discredits and demonizes those who oppose him
he bullies and threatens people who could make him look bad.
Is this what we want as our president?

Not a Bad Speech from Arnold
Not a bad bit of speaking Downsides were
#1) Organization. He drifted back and forth between his points alot
#2) he isn't a 30 minute man for speaking
His Joke about Winning an Oscar, has to be *(in my mind)* the best self depricating political joke ever.
had the speech been a bit better organized i'd have maybe given it an A-
instead i give it a B-

Another f9-11 conspiracy found
EVIDENCE is mounting that China is buying more oil than it consumes, raising fears that oil hoarding may be supporting the current high price of crude.
Projections of the rate of growth in consumption in the People’s Republic suggest that China’s power generators, road hauliers, petrochemical plants and factories will burn an extra 500,000 barrels a day of crude oil this year. But Merrill Lynch’s analysis of implied demand, based on import data in the first and second quarter of this year, suggests that demand will increase this year by one million barrels a day.
Michael Rothman, Merrill Lynch’s senior energy analyst in New York, reckons that the second figure is not real consumption and does not reflect actual burning of crude in Chinese cars and power plants.
“It appears to be a hoarding phenomenon and we think it has to run its course, and when it does pass, prices should gravitate much lower, somewhere down towards $30 per barrel.”
yeah its those chinesse... all getting togther and hording oil, then stoping it to make Bush look good
thats one billion people in the vast halliburton conspiracy

Open letter to Todd Eastham
What's your plan for parenting & educating all the unwanted children you people want to bring into the world? Who will pay for policing our streets & maintaining the prisons needed to contain them when you, their parents & the system fail them? Oh, sorry. All that money has been earmarked to pay off the Bush deficit. Give me a frigging break, will you?
Dear Todd;
while not a member of National right to life, or any anti-abortion group i have to point out a flaw in your logic.
Your assuming that these children will be born anyway, i think thats a silly assumption. Because to be able to make a legal ban on abortions happen, we would have to make alot of societal changes occur. During the process of such a transition it may be possible that people realize they have a soverignty over their own bodies, and should excersise it.
Just a thought

Four years after the 2000 election fiasco, Palm Beach County's three-member canvassing board will meet Monday to determine the intent of about 300 absentee voters who incorrectly filled out their broken-arrow primary election ballots.
The canvassing board also will look at about 180 absentee ballots where voters either failed to sign ballot envelopes or whose signature differed from the one on file with the Supervisor of Elections Office
come on Miami-Palm Beach folks, the rest of us can vote ok why do you have toi screw it up

Because CLEARLY this worked so well with North Korea
A John Kerry administration would propose to Iran that it be allowed to keep its nuclear power plants in exchange for giving up the right to retain the nuclear fuel that could be used for bomb-making, the Democratic vice-presidential nominee, John Edwards, has said.
"If we are engaging with Iranians in an effort to reach this great bargain, and if in fact this is a bluff that they are trying to develop nuclear weapons capability, then we know that our European friends will stand with us," Senator Edwards said.
yeah, making Deals worked real good in North Korea didn't it

Now i know i know Politicians often say one thing, and do another... BUT
In this case the irony is just to good
Amid questions about one of John Kerry's combat "V" decorations, unearthed remarks by the senator eight years ago reveal he judged an admiral's allegedly false awards as a serious offense that disqualified him from leadership.
After the suicide of Adm. Mike Boorda in 1996, National Review columnist Kate O'Beirne notes Kerry gave his response to two Boston papers.
"In a sense, there's nothing that says more about your career than when you fought, where you fought and how you fought," Kerry told the Boston Herald.
"If you wind up being less than what you're pretending to be, there is a major confrontation with value and self-esteem and your sense of how others view you."
"Is it wrong? Yes, it is very wrong. Sufficient to question his leadership position? The answer is yes, which he clearly understood," Kerry told the Herald.
As WorldNetDaily reported, two researchers contend Kerry's Silver Star has an unauthorized "V" for valor which "makes it facially false and at variance with official government records." That's because Silver Stars are given for gallantry and never are accompanied with a combat "V," which would be redundant. But Kerry's DD 214, or "Report of Transfer and Separation," displayed on his website, shows the "V."
A U.S. Navy spokesman told the Chicago Sun-Times, "Kerry's record is incorrect. The Navy has never issued a combat 'V' to anyone for a Silver Star."
So was John Kerry right in 1996, or is he right now?

Kerry Vs Bush: another comparison
In a campaign that is getting Curiouser and Curiouser We see another strinking difference
Not only has John Kerry refuced to denounce 527s (the Majority of which, and vast majority of the dollars in 527s support him)
Bush says Kerry Served Honorably, Kerry questions Bush's service
and now
Kerry will campaign, and advertise heavily, while Bush is having his convention
Bush Gave John Kerry the floor for his week.

ug. 29 (Bloomberg) -- Republican U.S. Senator John McCain said Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry's anti-war activities after he returned from Vietnam are an appropriate subject for political debate.
McCain, 68, of Arizona, said on the CBS News program ``Face the Nation,'' that he disagreed with Kerry throwing his ribbons from his medals on the steps of the U.S. Capitol when he returned from the war.
``Every American is entitled to protest,'' McCain said. ``Whether he did that appropriately'' is a legitimate subject for debate, he said.
Wow, now if John McCain only didn't want to throw me in jail for my first and second amendment usage i'd kinda like him

John Kerry and Vietnam, what is known at the moment
Not facts that are a grey and nebulous he said/he said but things that most of the evidence avalible without full access to Kerry's records tells us
John Kerry Pre ‘Nam
#1) he opposed the War
#2) he tried to get a deferment to not go to war.
John Kerry and ‘Nam
What we know so far
#1) John Kerry didn’t volunteer. His deferment was tossed out and he went with the navy reserve, which statistically gave him the best chance of staying state side
#2) before going into Vietnam John Kerry had lots of locally prominent democrats out in California send strong mails which recommended rapid promotion for him, the second time he failed to get the rapid promotion recommendation
#3) as near as we can tell he volunteered to go onto the swift boat program.
#4) His diary and the recollection of –some- folks who were there put his first purple heart into a questionable status. The lack of enemy fire (in some places) and the possibility it was done by his weapon.
#5) He may not have come under fire during the incident in which he received his bronze star, but official navy records back him up because they used his after action reports.
#6) His diary and the swift boat vets account of his silver star are fairly close
#7) there is a yet unresolved dispute as to his being in Cambodia on a secret mission
#8) his last performance review was far from sterling.
#9) John Kerry does not have shrapnel (and an MRI proves it)
#10) with no clear disability rating he used his three purple hearts to get out of Vietnam; when others Such as Col. North refused a third purple heart so they would not be forced out.
John Kerry Post ‘Nam
#1) he wore his Silver Star with a valor clasp, something the navy doesn’t issue period.
#2) His citation for the Silver Star was reissued twice outside of the norms of military protocol
#3) the third time, well outside the time limits of military regulations the Secretary of the Navy whose signature is placed on it says he doesn’t remember signing it.
I'll make a comment on how all these things reflect on John Kerry the potential president a bit later
