2000-you lost ( but just barely)
1988-You lost (Willie Horton didn't make you lose, you lost)
1984-You lost
1980 You lost
1972 you lost
1992 and 1996 you won
1976 you won
Now, once you accept that you lost 2004 ( not dirty tricks, not intimidation, you just lost) you need to ask yourself:
What happened in 2004,2000,1988,1984,1980, and 1972?
What happened in 1976,1992, and 1996?
Also, what happened in 1994? and 2002?
When you answer these three questions you get a chance to try for the big prize again.
The republicans have complained for years (rightly or wrongly) the democrats have a better ground game then they do. If this year the republican ground game had *AT LEAST* parity with the Democratic ground game, then what does that mean? Does that mean that more people have always agreed with the republicans? does it mean the kids who grew up under reagan ( starting into middle age territory) have more reagenite values?
These are some big questions you need to ask yourselves if you want to do better in 2006 and 2008
These are the questions you *HAVE* to ask if you want to make it in the "flyover" areas you clearly lost.
The fact that most of the non urban areas went for bush, this is a problem. If the GOP starts cracking into the Urban areas we could see a one party state happen.
So if you guys can't fill the roll alot of third parties are nipping at your heels waiting.
