Social conservatives can use libertarian models

The thing is, and this is really irksome to me in my recent debates about
“Conservatives V Libertarians” with Pat Hynes is this isn’t an issue of
separation but should be an issue of team work

Regard;

Content on TV and Radio, why is it an issue now VS 30 or 40 years ago? TV is
a drug and hey I am an addict so I know. This opiate has started getting
injected into more and more arms as the Two Income/Single Parent days became
huge. Well, gosh, having two incomes in most situations actually equals less
economic buying power not more. You put that message out and many more
parents will start to stay home. And when they are home, their children get
monitored and “filth” on TV becomes less of an issue. And as parents are
working more, and as negligence of children has been growing TV has started
marketing to children. When children are monitored this stops and the market
adjusts content back accordingly. For your single Parent household, the laws
have been made so marriage is a very casual thing. And when marriage is
viewed by the state as a casual thing then guess what… people not only leave
marriages at the drop of the hat, many more people don’t get married.
Marriage benefits the state in tons of ways…. So if we treated marriage like
the contract it should be less divorces would happen and more people would
take marriage seriously… and again people would be empowered to raise their
children again.

You see saying, “Don’t do it or I’ll spank you.” that isn’t the best way to
solve a social problem. Janet Jackson showing some boobie, Bubba the love
sponge having women masturbate on the air, or Howard stern these things are
not the problem at all. The problem is, as Michael Medved likes to say we’ve
been making a society that worships the power of the little G government and
not the BIG G of god. The bible speaks extensively about the governance of
yourself and the family. Yet these religious conservatives have been getting
in the way of what god clearly left for a man and a wife to do. It is your
job to govern the contents you put into your physical temple, and when you
have children into theirs till they reach an age where they are accountable
to god for their actions. By stopping this content be it drink or be it
obscene language from ever even coming towards you this is where you fail.
Being a good Christian, Jew.... or whatever does not mean you lived a life
free from temptation, it means living a life where you were presented with
temptation and you made the right choice. If you take away that crucial
struggle all people of faith must do, then those spiritual muscles just like
the physical muscles grow weak and grow flabby.

Ya see what I did here? I took some serious issues that matter to
Religious/Social/Cultural conservatives and I put a libertarian “Don’t tread
on me” spin on them. I could also put a socialist spin on them to if I
wanted to so it shows that it isn’t the religious part that matters... it is
the conservative part that matters.
