Sexy Nuance Post

I find Nuance so sexy, which is why we all know that the Democratic position is so sexy…. Why talk about the substance of the Iraq war when you could in a sexy deep throaty voice “Say things that don’t mean anything at all.”

Some bit-o-Delaware news shows just how Sexy Democratic nuance can be.

The Delaware Democrat spent the week after Thanksgiving with a congressional delegation on a trip to the Middle East and Iraq and returned to a growing political uproar. While President Bush assured reporters "the war is winnable," Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean claimed that the idea the war can be won is "just plain wrong."
"I wish more of my colleagues, and folks like Howard Dean, would try going to Iraq to see the situation there for themselves," Carper told The News Journal.

First of all how Sexy is this. We compare Howard Dean saying the idea that the war can be won is just plain wrong to President Bush saying “The war is winnable” with some one saying you should go to Iraq. So you see while this –seems- to moderate itself from Howard Dean’s position what Senator Carper’s words here are doing is making him a authority above reproach. Now the Deleware News Journal here just happens to make him out to be more sensible then Howard Dean or George Bush… but I know you want me to sex you up with the Nuance don’t you….
Carper will take to the Senate floor Wednesday to discuss his observations in more depth. Anyone who has visited Iraq and talked to the people there, he said, "is not going to come back thinking this thing is going to be won militarily. It's not."

So Senator Carper, let me ask you what does “Won Militarily” mean to you? Does it mean that Karl Rove and Dick Cheney will in a black mass raise Audie Murphey, General Patton, and John Wayne from the dead and send them to beat down all the Anti-US forces in Iraq with the power of Jingoistic-Zombies?
Do you mean will we have Zarqawi come to Camp David and sign an armistice?
Or, does it mean the US military will arrests/incapacitate the Anti-US/Anti-Iraqi forces and allow a political solution to work?
All three of those things require the military to take good honest American boots and put them to the buttocks of bad guys… but one of those things mention “Oh yeah we kind of have to build an Iraqi society so we will stop having hineys to kick.”
By using Nuance they can look like they support the soldiers, when they don’t.
But to use Nuance in that sexy way they have to sell the war in an entirely un-nuanced way which isn’t sexy at all.
