Subject: ***SMH in US News 2005 Rankings!***
Great News!
For the second year in a row, U.S. News & World Report magazine has
named Sarasota Memorial among the very best in the country in seven
specialties: heart and heart surgery, orthopedics, digestive disorders,
cancer care, urology, geriatrics and ear, nose and throat.
In fact, Sarasota Memorial now ranks among the top 20 hospitals in the
nation for cardiac care, reaching the 19th spot on the list, up from 21
in 2004.
Here is the complete list of our 2005 rankings, which will appear in
U.S. News & World Report's 2005 America's Best Hospitals edition. The
July 18 issue is scheduled to appear on newsstands July 11:
19th in the nation for heart/heart surgery
34th for digestive disorders
36th for orthopedics
37th for geriatrics
38th in urology
41st for cancer services
43rd for ear, nose and throat care
U.S. News assessed care in 17 medical specialties at more than 6,000
hospitals nationwide to determine the rankings. Look for more
information in Monday's Messenger.
Congratulations to everyone!!!
we aren't connected to a University research center, and while we are a fairly affluent community we aren't well funded in a private capacity ( we are a state government/county government entity)
Not bad
