More angry wails from Pro-Miers camps

Over on polipundit DJ is angry at people who refuse to lock step with him and the President.

Yesterday I noted that George W. Bush is the most Conservative President this nation has seen, even as a candidate, since Ronald Reagan. I noted that Bush has a long string of victories for the Right Side of Things, and has earned more than a little discretion in his judgment.

Ok folk's Lets review this charge.

We have had 2 President's since Ronald Reagan:
Bill Clinton-I am willing to go out on a limb and say for Bill Clinton to be -as- conservative as Ronald Reagan we would need some form of Alternate reality.

George Herbert Walker Bush: a Old east coast republican with a slight coat of reagan pain... no contest.

So because He is more conservative then (1) a Democrat and (2) an olde school republican we should give him a pass? Is that the logic we are trying to work with here?

As for Victories what do we have? Honestly we've won elections but what victories have conservatives gotten?
Largest peace time increase in spending since LBJ?
Some law suit and bankruptcy reform which benifits buisness with a poor buisness model over citizens?
Seriously other then winning elections what have we won?

but claim there are “dozens, even hundreds” of better choices. Seriously, does anybody who makes such insulting and ill-considered comments expect them to be taken seriously?

Ok... Depending on the way you define better choices I can say their may have been thousands of better choices.

I could have went to past and former republican members of the house and senate and tapped them to go to the supreme court ( all of whom would have a good idea of the role of how our laws are picked out)
How about former governors?
How about former cabinent officers?
How about conservative law school professors?
lead counsel for the ACLJ? ( ala Ruth Bader Ginsburg)
I can just go through millions upon millions of different standards to say who is more qualified. And when you insult people because they disagree with you and call them -insulting- that takes nards. Serious Nards

What exactly are you expecting? Do you think you can call up the White House and force the President to pull his choice in favor of yours?

George Allen wants to be the conservative Senator running for President. He is roughing up the Miers nomination

Sam Brownback also wants to be -THE- conservative guy to and is doing the same.

This is why the President's choice is bad. Because these guys now have no reason to be invested in the President. And these guys see the many many unhappy people and they are standing up for their own personal advancement.

If Miers is shot down, Bush will send out another nomination, but it’s still going to be someone he chooses, and you should certainly know by now, Dubya is not a man who settles for being bullied.

You choose not to trust him, that’s your loss. You chose to screw around with his work, that just hurts the country.

President Bush has abandoned much of his work that helps the country... he has put up a wall of executive privelige to protect the failures of the clinton administration.

Where *I* sit he is hurting the country right now.
